PressTV...

Several US Republicans have denounced leading presidential candidate Donald Trump for blaming former President George W. Bush for the September 11, 2001 attacks.

The controversy erupted when Trump noted in a television interview on Friday that the terror attacks took place on Bush’s watch, implying that Bush deserves some blame for the deadly attacks.

“When you talk about George Bush – I mean, say what you want, the World Trade Center came down during his time,” Trump told Bloomberg TV.

Trump’s remarks drew angry response from his Republican rival, Jeb Bush, the brother of the former president. Bush called Trump’s comments “pathetic”.

“How pathetic for (Trump) to criticize the president for 9/11," Bush tweeted. "We were attacked and my brother kept us safe."

Another GOP presidential candidate, Ben Carson, said it’s ridiculous to suggest that Bush was behind the terror attacks.

"I think it's ridiculous to suggest that (Bush) is responsible for it," Carson said.

Congressman Peter King, former chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said Trump’s comments showed his lack of knowledge, calling them "a cheap shot."

"I think Donald Trump is totally wrong there," King said Friday. "Anyone who has any real knowledge of that — you can get all the CIA people, all of the career people — no one saw the attack of 9/11 coming.”

“And to blame George Bush for what happened on September 11...shows a lack of knowledge and is too much of a cheap shot at the president,” he said.

The September, 11, 2001 attacks, also known as the 9/11 attacks, were a series of strikes in the US which killed nearly 3,000 people and caused about $10 billion worth of property and infrastructure damage.

US officials assert that the attacks were carried out by al-Qaeda terrorists but many experts have raised questions about the official account.

They believe that rogue elements within the US government, such as former Vice President Dick Cheney, orchestrated or at least encouraged the 9/11 attacks in order to accelerate the US war machine and advance the Zionist agenda.

King is full of shit!

As Lew Rockwell points out here

Bin Ladin Determined To Strike in US was the President's Daily Brief prepared by the Central Intelligence Agency and given to U.S. President George W. Bush on Monday, August 6, 2001. The brief warned of terrorism threats from Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda 36 days before the September 11, 2001 attacks.[1]
