I'm an absolute cultural clod, apparently.
I would have gotten a few right if they had asked who invented the Widlar Current Source (Widlar), or who invented the Zener diode (Zener), or who discovered Kirchhoff's Current Law (Kirchhoff). Or whom Lagrangian Polynomial Interpolation is named after (Lagrange). Or the Ford F-150.

Diodes were thermionic back then, and I doubt that Zener's mama had discovered the PN junction. But you never know -- he had to get his smarts from somewhere.
