How Biden’s Gun Advice Landed This Man in Jail

To say that Joe Biden isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed would be both an understatement and a compliment. If we’re being perfectly honest, Biden’s status is a subtle combination of buffoon and lunatic – you know, that special kind of stupid you can only seem to find in politics.

You probably were already well aware of Biden’s incompetence, but if you need another piece of evidence to justify your opinion, then you’re certainly in luck. The latest Biden blunder to echo throughout the national news involves an average Washington man, a shotgun, and Biden’s wife.

Sound strange? Let’s break it down.

Essentially, Biden was taped during a self-congratulatory Whitehouse PR maneuver answering a totally non-scripted question about assault weapon and high capacity magazine bans. But what he said caused a man from Vancouver, Washington to end up in jail.

When asked whether or not a weapons ban would make the public less safe, Biden said what he claims to tell his wife… that all you need to do for protection is fire a couple 12 gauge shotgun shells in the air outside your house if you suspect any danger is lurking (never mind all the Secret Service officers standing guard around the entire Biden residence).

Well, 52-year-old Jeffery Barton did just that, but he wasn’t treated quite as well as the vice president’s wife. He got thrown in jail!

Barton’s local news station, KOIN6, covered the story:

A Vancouver man who fired a shotgun to chase away alleged car prowlers pleaded not guilty Wednesday and cited Vice President Joe Biden as the reason he did this.

Jeffery Barton, 52, pleaded not guilty to one count of illegal aiming or discharging a firearm at his arraignment in Clark County Court.

Barton reportedly admitted to deputies that he fired his weapon while chasing away people who he thought were breaking into his vehicles at 5804 NE 124th St. in the early morning hours Monday.

Deputies are investigating whether a large teen party that got out of control at a neighbor’s home may have been linked to the shooting. However, at this point, deputies have said there was no evidence of prowlers on Barton’s property.

Outside the courtroom Wednesday, Barton cited the vice president in defense of his actions.

“I did what Joe Biden told me to do,” Barton told KOIN. “I went outside and fired my shotgun in the air.”

Barton was referring to a question and answer session the vice president had in February.

“If you want to protect yourself, get a double-barreled shotgun,” Biden said at the time.

“I said ‘Jill, if there’s ever a problem, just walk out on the balcony here … put that double-barreled shotgun and fire two blasts outside the house,’” Biden added.

However, sheriff’s deputies told KOIN 6 News Wednesday that current law does not afford people the right to just fire off their gun. There must be a self-defense component, along with a life-threatening situation — none of which appeared to be the case here, they said.

Barton’s next court appearance has not yet been scheduled.

Funny, you’d think a guy as goofy and likable as Joe Biden would be a little more in-touch with the public. Guess he’s just another gun-grabbing airhead after all.

Buffoon and lunatic are somewhat inadequate to describe the gun banner, Joe Biden. You must be aware of just who is giving you advice.

Jeffery Barton was stupid to admit to deputies that he discharged his firearm. That is like putting the noose around your own neck. ;)

He SHOULD have just told the cops that he felt his life was in danger once he saw one of the perps reaching for a weapon.

No doubt. He told the cops the truth and see what it got him? ;)
