A document uncovered by Breitbart News indicates that the parents of Sen. Ted Cruz were named on a Calgary list of electors for Canada’s federal election of July 8, 1974. Ted Cruz’s parents are listed as “Cruz, Eleanor, Mrs.” and “Cruz, Raphael, self employed,” both at 920 Riverdale Avenue, South West in Calgary, Alberta.
Canadian law restricts (and restricted) federal voting rights to Canadian citizens.
In short, regardless of where Cruz's mother was originally from, Cruz's parents had to be declared Canadian citizens in order to appear on the voting roles in Canada. As Canada did not legally recognize dual-citizenship until 1977, Cruz's parents had given up their US and Cuban citizenships.

What is so revealing about all this is that the entire GOP establishment (and let's be fair, the Democrats) seem to feel that the laws are only for us little people, and that they should be allowed to do whatever they want to do, whenever they want to do it, including running a candidate for the Presidency who does not meet the Constitutional qualifications!
