Acclaimed Christian speaker and author Anne Graham Lotz is warning America that its increasing sin is hastening God’s impending judgment as the End Times quickly approach. Pointing out the turmoil the United States is in heading into the November presidential election, the daughter of the iconic world evangelist Billy Graham is adamant that the nation founded on God’s principles has drastically fallen away from upholding His Word — which means it will soon fall from His grace.
"Our nation is in a mess. Why?” Lotz questioned her followers on her website AnneGrahamLotz.org on Wednesday. “Could it be because America is losing God's blessing? His favor?”
Self-inflicted doom?
The Christian leader went on to suggest that the overt threat of Islamic terrorism highlighted by the media isn’t the only danger Americans should fear. She points to the self-inflicted implosion of America caused by its citizens’ deliberate decisions to defy the biblical precepts upon which the nation was founded.
“Could our sin be provoking His judgment?” Lotz pondered. “Judgment that is not necessarily in the form of a nuclear dirty bomb, or another ISIS attack, or an economic collapse.”
She then cited a book from the New Testament that speaks of a nation falling away from God, which, in turn, removes His protection over the people so that they self-destruct.
“But a Romans 1 judgment as God backs out of our national life and turns us over to ourselves [will likely result]," the North Carolina native warns.
Lotz also used the Old Testament to demonstrate how the United States is on a one-way road to destruction because of its insistence on living by worldly values and its refusal to live by God’s standards. She pointed to the punishment that the nation of Judah incurred from God because of its disobedience to God and its persistence in living by its own rules.
"God warns a nation [Judah] that judgment is coming,” the evangelist shared from Scripture, The Christian Post reports. “He doesn't want any to perish. But if a nation does not heed His warnings, He unleashes His anger and there is nothing — no one — who can prevent it.”
She then impressed that Americans would be foolish to believe that God would overlook bringing judgment on the United States when He justly punished His own Jewish People for their waywardness thousands of years ago.
“If God would judge His own beloved nation of Judah, why would we think America could escape?" Lotz mused while examining the Bible passage.
Finding the remedy
Instead of inciting Americans to vote or try to change society through various conventional means, Lotz impressed that the people of the United States need to individually examine their own hearts and inspect their deviation from God’s intended path.
"So … if we are coming under the judgment of God — if He is giving us over to ourselves, removing His blessing, protection and favor — the solution will not be found in politics or the economy or the military or technology," the sister of Billy Graham Evangelist Association President Franklin Graham insisted.
Lotz followed up by sharing how her own message has helped her to examine her own heart and ask herself how seriously she is currently seeking God. She then urged Americans to repent and return to God as their first love.
As an apologist who frequently visits the topic of End Times while speaking at events across the nation, she inserted her belief that the Second Coming of Jesus Christ will be witnessed during her lifetime, as many biblical prophesies concerning the Last Days have already come to pass.
"And I believe that if I live out my lifetime — a natural lifetime — I believe I will live to see the return of Jesus in the Rapture when He comes back to take us to be with Himself, which means preceding that there are going to be some signs,” Lotz declared. “There are going to be some warnings."
