Enemy at the gates: Preparing for a Hillary Clinton presidency Posted on May 16, 2016 by Thomas Miller

As a nation we are facing what I am finding to be one of the least-hopeful presidential elections of my lifetime. We are facing the reality that we may see Hillary Clinton as the Democratic candidate for President of the United States. Yep
Hillary Clinton.
This is a dangerous possibility, and poses a great threat to the preparedness-minded citizen. Some of the key issues that will probably pose an issue to you as a prepper include:
The 2nd Amendment
Security
Personal income
Energy and the environment
The economy
Ladies and Gentlemen: The 45th U.S. Presidential hopeful, Hillary Clinton, on the issues, and what you can do to continue to prepare in the face of Hillarys third term in office
2nd Amendment
Issue: A Hillary Clinton presidency will continue to push a control agenda on the 2nd Amendment by making gun ownership harder:
Attempting to increase the number of gun sales subject to background checks. Ensuring the safety of communities is placed above the profits of the gun lobby. Fighting to keep guns out of the hands of domestic abusers, other violent criminals and the severely mentally ill. (Notice you didnt see drug cartels listed specifically!) Hillary Clinton has a ridiculous track record on gun control. Shell flip and flop more than a fish out of water when it suits her. As an example, her campaign website states,
Closing the Charleston Loophole. Hillary will push Congress to close the loophole that allows a gun sale to proceed without a completed background check if that check has not been completed within three days. This loophole allowed the alleged Charleston shooter to purchase a gun even though he had a criminal record.
Lets see how this compares to what she had to say 20 years ago about background checks. In Clintons 1996 book, It Takes a Village, she outlines that,
The Brady Bill, which my husband signed into law in 1995, imposes a 5-day waiting period for gun purchases, time enough for authorities to check out a buyers record (emphasis mine).
First of all, there is no freaking wait period in South Carolina. The Charleston Loophole is the result of the federal government!
The Federal Bureau of Investigation uses the National Instant Criminal Background Check Systems, known as NICS, to approve or disapprove firearm purchases. This is a requirement in all 50 states and, ironically, was mandated by the Brady Bill, and launched by the FBI in 1998, in full compliance with the Brady Bill.
Back to South Carolina
The loophole in question is not a loophole at all. The sale of a firearm to Dylann Roof, the attacker on June 17, 2015 at a historically black church in Charleston that killed 9, was completely legal. The federal government failed to do their part.
According to the FBI, if there is a delay mandated by a NICS check, the Federal Firearm License holder (seller) is not allowed to transfer the firearm for five days. (See quote above
5-day waiting period for gun purchases, time enough for authorities to check out a buyers record.). If for some reason there is no response from the FBI in three days following the five day window (which is, time enough for authorities to check out a buyers record), then a seller can transfer the firearm.
So now we are to believe that the federal government will follow new law, when they did not do their part before, and thus created the Charleston Loophole as a result of their incompetence?
Solution: If Clinton is on track to potentially become our next liar-in- chief, then steps should be taken to secure firearms and firearm-related items (ammunition, replacement parts, etc.) before they are not available.
As much as I hate to see it continue to happen, I anticipate another run on guns and ammunition if Hillary Clinton is elected (or even if she just becomes the candidate for the Democrats). To avoid the fallout from a buying frenzy, it is best to take a look at your current supply of firearms and ammunition and plug any gaps now.
Prioritize purchases based on what you dont have (Clinton plans to target military-style assault weapons specifically), what you use most and what you need more of.
If you currently do not own any firearms, it might be something to consider getting now.
If you are not sure where to start, ask a friend or family member to help you out. If that is not an option, go to your local gun shop, they will be happy to help you out. Consider what I call the survival three-gun combo (.22 Rifle, 12 Gauge Shotgun and Semi-Auto Pistol) if making your first purchases. When purchasing multiples, i.e. two semi-auto pistols, consider standardizing the caliber of these pistols; this makes it easier to store ammunition, etc.
Psst
gun control doesnt work on criminals, Mrs. Clinton.
