Sen. Rand Paul Breaks Silence And Makes Huge Prediction On Donald Trump 77 Comments
Since abandoning his presidential campaign and focusing his efforts on wining his re-election to the U.S. Senate, Rand Paul has refrained from jumping in the presidential political arena.
The Senator from Kentucky hasnt said much about the presidential election, other than throwing sharp elbows at Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton for her war against coal miners.
But Senator Paul has tossed his support behind Donald Trump and followed through on his public promise to endorse the Republican nominee.
With that being said, Senator Paul just made his boldest prediction of the United States Presidential election.
Senator Paul says Donald Trump will win Kentucky.
He made the statement during an interview with a local Kentucky newspaper and spoke about the potential effects Trump will have on his own campaign.
While Paul acknowledges his differences between himself and Trump, as well as the back-and-forth attacks the two exchanged during the Republican primary, he believes Hillary doesnt stand a chance against Trump in Kentucky.
After making his prediction, Paul visited a manufacturing plant in Louisville.
I think its a great story of a Louisville manufacturing company doing pretty well, and that we do have manufacturing in our country, Paul said.
Its his latest move in an attempt to run a successful re-election campaign.
Paul also said he has made peace with the Trump campaign, despite the stark differences between them.
Senator Paul says he looks past those differences and agrees with Trump on overhauling the extreme regulations on small businesses.
When asked if Trump will help or hurt his re-election chances in Kentucky, Paul said:
I think that Trumps going to win Kentucky, and I think that were going to win Kentucky because, really, I want to defend Kentucky against big government thats trying to take our jobs away. And I think most people in Kentucky want that.
Instead of attending the Republican National Convention and Donald Trumps acceptance speech, Senator Paul decided to campaign in Kentucky.
In a move to provide a unified front against the Hillary Clinton campaign, Paul claimed that the Republican party is also unifying behind Trumps campaign.
I think overall, we have to develop the contrast. Whos going to be better for manufacturing? Whos going to be better for Kentucky, someone for higher taxes and more regulations, or someone for lower taxes and lower regulation? So, I think its clear, said Paul.
Its a huge step away from Pauls previous stance in the Republican primary, where he blasted Trump as a blowhard.
Will people sometimes say things that are untoward or not what we wish them to say? Yes, that happens of every candidate, said Paul. I always tell people the only perfect candidate is if you get to be the candidate or I get to be the candidate, then we agree with ourselves 100 percent of the time.
Paul has often touted his ability to bring minorities and outsiders into the GOP tent, pushing the party to adopt a position on reforming the criminal justice system.
He maintains that while he cant control Trumps rhetoric, he will continue with his efforts and follow his own political path, regardless.

I was driving thru Kentucky in the big truck. It was snowing pretty hard and the 4-wheelers started to slide off the road. It was supposed to be a midnight delivery. I got off at the next truck stop and called the dispatcher. She rescheduled my delivery for 10 AM next morning. It was the right thing to do. When the cars start going off the road, it is not much longer before the trucks start going off the road.
