The Price of US Olympian Arrogance

The behavior of gold medalist swimmer Ryan Lochte and three of his teammates (Jack Conger, Gunnar Bentz and Jimmy Feigen) in Rio was deplorable - explained in a previous article.

They were caught red-handed lying about being robbed. Out of sheer stupidity, arrogance and drunkenness, they caused thousands of dollars of damage to a gas station.

Their behavior resembled how America operates worldwide - raping and pillaging countries for power and profits.

In Lochte’s case, he learned a painful lesson, losing all his major lucrative endorsement deals. According to ESPN, Speedo, Ralph Lauren, Gentle Hair Removal and Airweave dropped him.

Speedo said it would donate $50,000 of his endorsement fee to Save The Children, to be used for Brazilian children.

In a statement, Lochte said “I respect Speedo’s decision and am grateful for the opportunities that our partnership has afforded me over the years. I am proud of the accomplishments that we have achieved together.”

A Ralph Lauren statement said it “continues to proudly sponsor the US Olympic and Paralympic Team and the values that its athletes embody.”

“Ralph Lauren's endorsement agreement with Ryan Lochte was specifically in support of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and the company will not be renewing his contract.”

His other corporate sponsors issued similar statements. His troubles aren’t over. He and his three teammates face disciplinary action from the US Olympic Committee. CEO Scott Blackmun said it’s coming.

International Olympic Committee  (IOC) member Anita DeFrantz, blasted the four swimmers, saying “(t)hey have forever put themselves on the kind of list that you don’t want to be remembered for. (They) insulted a whole nation.”

A recklessly celebratory night on the town turned Olympian fame into infamy. It’s typical yankee mentality, wanting control over all other countries, asserting America’s will arrogantly, demanding world governments play by Washington rules.

In the case of Lochte and his teammates, they apparently think it’s OK to behave anyway they please abroad, perhaps especially in Latin America.

Secretary of State John Kerry used the imperial designation “our back yard” in April 2013 comments before House Foreign Affairs Committee members - highlighting Monroe Doctrine arrogance, now extended to mean planet earth and space.

This is so good I've keyed an article off it for the Nationalist Times print newspaper. It started as a letter to the editor. He declared this postscript one, but it I've suggested he just make it a half-pager:

As I write it's the day after a huge political event here in Anderson, South Carolina -- US. Rep. Jeff Duncan's sixth annual Faith and Freedom Barbecue. Sheriff Joe Arpaio was once again the keynote speaker.

I was able to deploy about 200 pieces of literature, most of them the Nationalist Times. This was mostly in the parking lot but opportunities to talk it up started happening the instant I walked in the door due to my bold Confederate flag necktie: a young boy among the many youth greeters ranged about said he liked the tie, so I told him "Young man, I think you'll enjoy this newspaper" -- archly adding,as I always do, "but I'm warning you, it's a real one -- not like liberal media garbage!"

Couple minutes later a guy in the chow line complemented the tie so I forced a copy on him. Directly sitting down near some strangers I started eating the requisite beans and slaw and some home-made ice cream straight from the cylinder. Before I knew it a lady across the table eyed the paper and asked to see it.

She proceeded to read and read it, showing her friends some highlights and eventually asking me "Did you write this article? It's really good!" (The White Geek -- the May issue, I think.)

Distributing the Nationalist Times is a joy and privilege. Join the monthly army today (see notice this issue) and plan your approach with gusto. The Confederate flag is a perfect magnet anywhere except Kiryas Joel, New York. Make yourself a target for productive, adult conversation!

The BBQ audience was overwhelmingly white and the emcee declared that it "looked like America". But ominously, I was the only person there outwardly proclaiming Southernness there. Our hateful, despicable Republican governor has declared war on everything nationalists hold dear and the zombie citizens are following three paces behind her. Fairly innocuous in her first term, she's now a lame duck more communist than any Democrat -- or even Lindsey Graham.

Go make some news and journalize it, chillrun!!!

(My God, wikid even has an article on "no more pencils, no more books!" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traditional_rhyme )

USA! USA! USA! Bringing you democracy, or else! there were strains of VD that were incurable, and they were first found in the Philippines and then transmitted to the Korean working girls via US military. The 'incurables' we were told were first taken back to a military hospital in the Philippines to quietly die. – 4um
