Half of Americans who have left their church no longer believe in God, leading a surge of nearly one quarter of the nation who have no affiliation with any religion, according to a new survey.

Pew Research Center said Wednesday that 49 percent of what they term "nones" left their church and religion because they "don't believe." Another 20 percent said they don't like organized religion. Other reasons included "common sense" and a lack of belief in miracles.

The survey is the latest from Pew that demonstrates a growing trend in America: more and more people are junking religion and many are giving up on God.

Pew interviewed several respondents to try and find a reason. Pew Said for example:

"About half of current religious 'nones' who were raised in a religion (49%) indicate that a lack of belief led them to move away from religion. This includes many respondents who mention 'science' as the reason they do not believe in religious teachings, including one who said 'I'm a scientist now, and I don't believe in miracles.' Others reference 'common sense,' 'logic' or a 'lack of evidence' – or simply say they do not believe in God."

A sign society is reaching a level of maturity; individuals mobilizing minds to achieve goals without relying on a father figure for guidance and strength.

Easy does it, Happ -- most people do use religion as a crutch whether it's valid or not.

Tata's work here is so honest it puts the numerous pasty-faced diversity- loving gun-hating IRS-compromised preachers across the land to shame. 4um is more of a church than most with a steeple, ptly because it allows Christian expression and discussion.

There is no 'easy does it' with God Neo.

You absolutely WILL spend eternity in hell as an agnostic or an atheist.

This is a spiritual law made by God Himself.

You, or anyone else can deny, argue, refute, debate, or do anything else you want to with it, it WILL NOT change.

That may be, but this is 4um -- and atheists have freedom of expression too.

Do you realize that according to the Bible, easily 99.99% of amerikan Christians will go to hell? Church is nothing but a country club with stained glass for most of them. They're brain laundries like the schools -- extremely liberal in most cases. Easy-believism inoculates people against any concern for the real-world moral matters we discuss here.

Real preachers get thrown in jail or condemned by the scribes and pharisees -- Christ calls these tax-exempt "pastors" false shepherds and "dumb dogs that cannot bark" to sound a warning to the flock about the mortal dangers facing them. He has strong words for those supporting and heeding 'em too!

There will be a homecoming at the 11th Babdist Church of God of Prophecy of the Abrahamic Faith (Cleveland, west side) Thursday Evening. The Rev. Dr. Fuddle will speak on "Red and Yellow, Black and White, All Are Americans In His Sight".
