Trump heralds GOP's Obamacare alternative as Rand Paul reveals it will focus on low-cost policies

President-elect Donald Trump has revealed the GOP’s plan to repeal and replace Obamacare will provide ‘insurance for everybody.’

Trump said the nearly-finished bill would include ‘lower numbers’ and ‘much lower deductibles’ but declined to reveal any specific details on Sunday, the Washington Post reports.

His comments come just days Republicans announced that they had taken the first steps in repealing the Affordable Care Act, which caused contention and concerns on whether repealing it would leave more than 11 million Americans uninsured.

Trump did not give specific details about the new bill, but said he plans to go after pharmaceutical companies and insist they negotiate directly with the government on Medicare and Medicaid health plans on lower costs. ‘We’re going to have insurance for everybody,’ he said.

‘There was a philosophy in some circles that if you can’t pay for it, you don’t get it.

‘That’s not going to happen with us.’ Read more

does this mean that so called 'health insurance' will no longer be compulsory in the united states? if not, the whole lot of them can go F off., to put it nicely.

I've never had health insurance in my life, don't want it, don't need it. am not gonna get it.

people are brainwashed goons to pay for that overpriced garbage as if they are always sick or going to be sick..

how do they live that's so incorrect? I'm sick maybe once a year or two, and it usually mild bronchitis.

you know what I do?

pay the local doc $20 bucks cash and maybe an antibiotic if needed. 60 busks top, 50 bucks per year for ''medical care.'

lol

watching all this other garbage with hysterical people everywhere seriously looks like inmates in an asylum.

Someday, though, you might have a serious illness and not have a way to pay for it out of savings. Going without health insurance is as risky as not going without fire insurance on your house or liability insurance on your car.

Few years back there was a story in our paper of a recent Ohio graduate who came to NYC to start her career. Alas, she came down with appendicitis. With no insurance the bill was for $17,000 which she did not have. Had to forego living in NY and go back to mama in Ohio.

go back to mama in Ohio

And I bet that was a costly move also. How did she pay for that and what kind of job in Ohio? ;)

here's the thing. if I went a year and a half without insurance, that would bequal $17,000 in my pocket that I didnt squander. i would say I'd use that to pay the 17k, but I happen to know that it does not actually cost anywhere near 17k to treat apendicitis, that is the medical cartel's false theft numbers. people actually have quite a bit of leeway in making cash arrangements with medical costs. I've seen people do it. they examined the bill & the hospital removed much of the bogus amount. my relative did this when they had their kid cash. the hospital was happy to accept their cash.

i'd love to know how much folks on this 4um shell out for "health insurance."

by the way I dont want you to misunderstand and think that i dont have money for insurance or that I don't believe in insurance. that's not the case at all. I have life insurance out the ass, for example . i strongly believe in the product . Ben Franklin sold it. and I have very high liability insurance limits on my business and auto.

I just don't want, need, or use health insurance. perhaps another underlying reason is that I dont believe in most of what the medical cartel calls "health care."

most of these bogus insane big pharma pills are toxic poison. chemo kills people, for example.

if I really needed something i could go to another country and pay cash. I've done that in several foreign countries. dental care for example is literally one tenth of the cost of what it is here. its all a scam. a racket. theft. trickery, fraud.

one time several years ago I needed a colonoscopy. I didn't have insurance. guess what? I paid about a grand cash. probably still overpriced but a much better proposal than throwing $1,000 in the trash month after month, for YEARS, and then still having to pay your deductible for the colonoscopy. I'm sorry but that is lunacy and I'd never do it.

I still came out WAY ahead.

if ever any apocolyptic scenario occurs I will be happy to post it here and eat my shoe. but like i already explained, smart people already know the legal says ways around that. of which there are plenty of legal ways which the state actually provides. I'm not talking about you all here. most people are just too damn dumb amd compliant to do the research.
