Hacked NYT Tweet Warns of Russian Attack on America

by Stephen Lendman

Various media reports, including by RT, reported the hacked Times Video Twitter account tweeting: “BREAKING: leaked statement from Vladimir Putin says: Russia will attack the United States with Missiles.”

Sunday morning, a series of related tweets, including the above one, were removed, replaced with a hacker group OurMine statement, claiming it co-opted The Times’ Twitter page, saying the above tweet was posted by a different hacker.

The Times is militantly anti-Russia, anti-Putin, publishing fake news about nonexistent “Russian aggression” and other disgraceful misinformation about its government and leadership.

Yet it’s hard imagining it would be part of a stunt even the administration, Pentagon and US intelligence community would deny.

Around mid-Sunday morning, The Times tweeted “(w)e deleted a series of tweets published from this account earlier today without our authorization. We are investigating the situation” - without further elaboration.

Obama, virtually the entire 113th Congress and new 114th one, as well as US media scoundrels are recklessly anti-Russia.

The fake Times tweet symbolizes its dismal domestic and geopolitical misreporting on issues mattering most - notably its irresponsible press agent journalism for powerful interests, maliciousness toward Trump, and reckless Russia bashing.

Trump is right to have summit with Putin in Iceland. ;)
