After failing to tempt Jesus with a couple of low-ball offers, the devil went whole-hog: dominion over all kingdoms of the world: 8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” 10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’” 11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

None possess the will that Jesus possesses if these needs be said. Is it likely that the devil gave up after this failure? He quit looking for an alternative? There have been many candidates for the devil to choose from – countless individual candidates who would gladly do the work of the prince of the power of the air, superficially proclaiming righteousness while practicing evil.

I recall Ron Paul saying something to the effect of …there are two arguments that never work in congress: those based on the Constitution and those based on morality.

I will stick to the morality. Try making a moral argument when it comes to a political discussion (I often do). For those who have, well…which turnip truck did you fall off of? The blank looks you receive in return (I have) suggest such a question.

Was someone approached by Satan after the rejection of Jesus? Does that someone spread his immorality over men? Even if you believe not one word of the Bible, you cannot deny the widespread acceptance of immoral, destructive behavior – even by those who claim to follow Christ.

Just consider the ease by which many accept the morality of and demand NAP violations.

What is NAP? thanks.

“The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable.” ~ H. L. Mencken

Probably Non-Aggression Policy. Don't think the author knows much of Christian theology. John 8:44 asserts that the Devil is always a liar. If true, that means that the world was not Satan's to offer.

I believe it's the "Non-Aggression Principle".

KIM that Satan claimed a world power that was not his to claim or to give. "The earth is the Lord's" is a theme running through both the OT and NT. Satan neither rules it nor hold title to it, nor can he give it to anyone.

Satan does have a limited power but only to the extent that we forsake the true power of God.
