From the start of his presidency, Donald Trump’s “war on terror” has entailed the seemingly indiscriminate slaughter of innocent people in the name of killing terrorists. In other words, Trump has escalated the 16-year-old core premise of America’s foreign policy — that it has the right to bomb any country in the world where people it regards as terrorists are found — and in doing so, has fulfilled the warped campaign pledges he repeatedly expressed.

The most recent atrocity was the killing of as many as 200 Iraqi civilians from U.S. airstrikes this week in Mosul. That was preceded a few days earlier by the killing of dozens of Syrian civilians in Raqqa province when the U.S. targeted a school where people had taken refuge, which itself was preceded a week earlier by the U.S. destruction of a mosque near Aleppo that also killed dozens. And one of Trump’s first military actions was what can only be described as a massacre carried out by Navy SEALs, in which 30 Yemenis were killed; among the children killed was an 8-year-old American girl (whose 16-year-old American brother was killed by a drone under Obama).

In sum: Although precise numbers are difficult to obtain, there seems little question that the number of civilians being killed by the U.S. in Iraq and Syria — already quite high under Obama — has increased precipitously during the first two months of the Trump administration. Data compiled by the site Airwars tells the story: The number of civilians killed in Syria and Iraq began increasing in October under Obama but has now skyrocketed in March under Trump.

Glenn Greenwald, who has never been in combat or even threatened in his entire life should maybe consider asking the terrorists to quit hiding amongst civilian populations, and come out and fight like men?

Here's an idea,he should PERSONALLY go over there on a personal peace mission to convince them to do this? They will gladly receive him. Not much they would enjoy more than getting their hands on NYC Jew.

And here is another thought. Maybe the "innocent civilians" that give the terrorists food, clothing, medical care, and shelter should stop doing that, and start killing them off when they show up?

That's another reason I dislike Trump. His is a vicious killer. We have no business over there, attacking people that are zero threat to us.

Daesh isn't supplied by civilians. Before you start killing them, you should cut off funding to those who have supplied them militarily. Tulsi Gabbard and some other senators have introduced just such a bill

Close, but no cigar. The very first move should be to shut down their funding at the very top level, not just the paymasters. ANY plan that doesn't include killing off members of the Saud Royal Family as well as other European,American, and Muddle Eastern financiers ain't a plan. It's a lie.

No money to buy beans and bullets, and no money to pay the soldiers, and they suddenly start disappearing and going back home.

I keep saying this over and over, and it is so blindingly obvious I will never understand why nobody seems to get it:

"Nobody EVER won a war by killing privates. If you want to win a war the most efficient and humane way to do it is to kill off the military leadership, shut down he funding, and kill off he bankers that finance the enemy.

Do those things and the war will end within weeks, not years."

What kind of walking mental defect are you to call Trump a "vicious killer" when he has never killed anyone, while defending absolute insane monsters who have been murdering everyone in sight for decades?

I gag at what could not be countenanced under Bush and Obama and what we should not submit to under the current leadership.

To do otherwise would be abject hypocrisy.

It's clear to most people in the ME that Daesh, ISIS, whatever you call them are insane monsters and would be glad to have them off their necks.

It's also common knowledge there that these bastards get aid and comfort from Saudi, Israel and factions embedded in our military and intelligence services.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. We will continue to grind on with the same stupid strategy, tactics and propaganda.

How come you didn't mention US involvement in financing Daesh and alQaeda?

There is much to be said for the olde saw, "bring all the boys home".

I was for that before, during and after a major war.

In the endless history of this world, there has never been, nor will ever be, a "power vacuum".

Someone, good or bad, will always strive to rule the world.

I would stand on the docks, cheering, as the last troops are brought home. What a wonderful day.

Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia, are powder kegs of billions of people, ripe for someone to light a fuse.

Automatic, we come home, South Korea and Japan would be nuclear within six months.

I would not care to be under age 60 in this world.

Mentioned.

“The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable.” ~ H. L. Mencken

All in the names of low unemployment, union jobs, government contracts, political contributions, and corporate profits.

Put me in absolute charge, and this insane war that Islam declared will be OVER without a single nuke launched.

Gonna be some empty beds in some mansions, though.

Because we don't. At least not politically.

We DO support it in the sense that we have the ability to end it pretty much any time we want. Assuming of course that anyone wants to end it.

I wouldn't bet a sick dog on them not being nuclear already. With that fat little garden gnome sitting at the controls of NK,they would be insane to not be capable of responding in kid.
