BROKEN ARROW — The son of a Broken Arrow-area homeowner fatally shot three masked intruders, two of whom were juveniles, during a home invasion Monday, authorities said.

A woman who is believed to be the getaway driver was arrested later after surrendering to police.

The home invasion and shootings in the 9100 block of Clearview Drive were reported around 12:30 p.m. When Wagoner County sheriff's deputies arrived, they found one person lying in the driveway and two others lying in the house. All three were dead.

Two of the deceased were 16 or 17 years old, and the third was 18 or 19, Deputy Nick Mahoney said. Their names had not been released by Monday evening.

Mahoney said the homeowner's 23-year-old son shot the man and two boys with an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle after they broke into the house, which is about 2/3 mile east of the Broken Arrow city limits in Wagoner County. The property is just south of 91st Street and west of 241st East Avenue.

The three intruders were wearing all black clothing, masks and gloves, Mahoney said. They forced their way into the home through a glass door in the back, he said.

The son, who also lives at the residence, reportedly opened fire with a rifle when the intruders came inside. Two died in the kitchen, while the third made his way outside and succumbed to his injuries in the driveway.

Investigators found a knife on one of the deceased in the kitchen and brass knuckles on the second. Mahoney the one who died outside had not yet been searched.

Later that afternoon, a 21-year-old woman who reportedly had driven the three to the house turned herself in at the Broken Arrow Police Department after seeing media reports about the shootings. She indicated to police that she was supposed to have picked the group back up after the burglary.

Police arrested the woman, but Mahoney did not know on what complaints. Her name had not been released by Monday evening.

The homeowner and the son, who reportedly did not know the intruders, went to the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office to submit formal statements. Mahoney said the shootings appear to have been in self-defense, but he clarified that the case will remain under investigation for some time.

The fatal shootings could be viewed by prosecutors as falling under Oklahoma's "Make My Day" law, which says a resident has the right to use deadly force if an intruder has entered or is in the process of entering the resident's home.

The son told investigators he heard someone coming through the door and armed himself before encountering the intruders in the hallway.

A neighbor who lives two houses down from the crime scene said she heard the shots from inside her home.

"The shots were so loud — loud enough that I ran to the window to see what had happened," said the neighbor, who declined to give her name.

"Something in me knew it was gunshots, but I didn't know what had happened until I went to leave my house and saw all the police officers."

She said she didn't remember seeing anything suspicious before the shooting.

However, a neighbor who lives across the street said she saw a suspicious black truck in the neighborhood, close to the house where the intruders were shot, in the hours leading up to the break-in. She said she would pass that information along to investigators.

Mahoney said the events were surprising, considering Wagoner County's relatively low crime rate.

"This is very, very unusual for us. It's not something we're used to," he said. "It's not something we normally have."

Nevertheless, he said the Sheriff's Office investigators, who are working in conjunction with Broken Arrow police, are well-trained.

"We have some of the best investigators in the state," he said.

The girl getaway driver is a fat white girl with a Spanish last name. She is not having a good day,and it may be a couple of decades before she has a good day. She has been charged with murder.

Yeah, I saw that. I'm wondering if the three dead perps are Mexicans?

Sheriff’s office spokesman Deputy Nick Mahoney said the homeowner’s adult son shot three male intruders — wearing all black, masks and gloves — with an AR-15 during an apparent home invasion.

Mahoney said two of the deceased were juveniles and one was an adult between the ages of 18 and 19. No names had been released by press time.

According to Mahoney, authorities have a 21-year-old female in custody who turned herself in to the Broken Arrow Police Department, claiming “She drove the individuals to the house to burglarize it,” he said.

A man's home is his castle. The kid was within his rights to shoot down the home invaders. This is a maxim of law that cannot be overturned. ;)

Obviously hubby married a green card, and I think it would be safe to say his two pals were also border jumpers.

She is young and probably not very bright, and she made a stupid mistake of marrying the first man to ask her for a date, and that is going to cost her all of her youth, and maybe more.

Update. One is a Mexican that married her to get a Green Card, one is a home boi,and one is white trash.

A virtual UN of stoopidity and criminality.

And the poor, fat, lonely white trash white girl is going to spend all of her youth locked away as a result of her loneliness and bad judgement.

I'm hoping that if this crew has no history of harming anyone that she might get a sentence of a year or so,and then probation.

This was a very high profile case, and the LE in OK are going to want to make a statement here.

A strong one.

She'll be in the poke more than a year, especially since she is complicit with three murders (albeit lawful ones).

Under OK law, anyone involved in a crime where deaths are involved are charged with the crime of murder.

Home invaders need to know that there are real risks involved in their business.
