Republican mega-donor Sheldon Adelson is reportedly "furious" over comments Secretary of State Rex Tillerson made about moving the American embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
Tillerson told "Meet the Press" host Chuck Todd during an interview that aired Sunday on NBC that an Israeli-Palestinian peace deal will determine whether the U.S. moves its embassy. Trump promised to move the embassy during the presidential campaign, but since coming into office he seems to be having second thoughts.
Sources close to Adelson told Axios that he doesn't want the move to be reliant on peace negotiations. The Las Vegas billionaire has told Trump the Palestinians are impossible to negotiate with because Israel can never meet their demands.
Adelson wrote Trump's inaugural committee a $5 million check, the largest single donation ever made to an incoming president's inauguration.
