Today at the Range at Austin, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed SB16, legislation to drastically lower the fee to the state for the License to Carry from $140 to $40. The largest amount any Texan will pay for their license as for September 1st will be $40.

Attending the bill signing ceremony was Senator Robert Nichols, the author of SB 16, House Sponsor Representative Phil King plus Representatives Kyle Kacal and DeWayne Burns attended as joint authors.

For over 20 years Texas has had one of the most expensive handgun licenses in the country. The passage of SB 16 makes our license one of the least costly. The 5 year License to Carry will now be the equivalent of $8 a year.

Thank you, Governor Abbott, Lt. Governor Patrick and the Texas Legislature for making this a priority issue. It's been a long time coming!

Meanwhile, I sent off to Arizona to get my concealed weapons permit from that state. The failure of the REPUBLICAN legislature to pass House Bill 1911 (constitutional carry) was the last straw for me. Fuck those bozo's in Austin, they're not worth a shit.Subscribe to *Shooters*

So how are things in Arizona? Things are OK here in the big MO. And I would not live anywhere in Texas right now since Greg Abbott is the Governor. ;)

I wouldn't know, I haven't been to Arizona since 1986! I'm just getting an Arizona non-resident license to carry that is honored in Texas.

Yes, reciprocal carry. That is the ticket.

I should try to get one also then I can carry here in MO.

I hear there are 38 states you can do that. ;)

Click on the map to see which state honors which license, this website is kept current and is the 'go-to' for most folks:
