A group of teens viciously beat a young woman at a Long Island High School graduation Sunday, according to witnesses and a shocking video posted on social media. Cell phone video of the horrifying attack was taken by a student at the graduation for the 2017 class of William Floyd High School in Brookhaven, L.I.
In the video, at least three people were seen repeatedly punching and kicking a young woman while she was prone on the ground, covering her face.
At one point, another young woman ran up and punched her.
Good Samaritan never called by cops about L.I. bar brawl When the young woman finally got up, blood was streaming from her face, and her clothing was torn and ruined, the video revealed.
The woman tried to get to the safety of an SUV as her attackers continued to come after her. Schools security personnel converged and broke up the brawl.
In a statement, school officials condemned the incident and said they would press charges.
We are disappointed by the actions of those who instigated the incident on what was a joyous occasion for our students and their families, the statement said.
As a school and community, we wont let the small number of spectators involved in inappropriate behavior overshadow the accomplishments of so many wonderful students and their families celebrating graduation day.
Suffolk County police were investigating the attack. No arrests have been made.
