Wednesday, White House deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders commented that President Trump will be running for re-election and will be participating in a fundraiser with major donors at his D.C. hotel this evening.
The Washington Examiner reports that Huckabee Sanders commented during Wednesdays off-camera briefing:
Of course hes running for re-election . . . Right now, hes focused on his agenda, focused on the midterms, she said. It will be the first election hes raising money for the party. I dont think thats abnormal for any president.
The dinner/fundraiser is $35,000-a-plate and will be held at the Trump International Hotel and is for Trump Victory, a joint committee of the Trump campaign and the RNC. An invitation sent out said it would cost $35,000 per person to attend, or $100,000 to be a member of the host committee.
