Jack Posobiec joined protesters in Seattle, Washington today demanding the Vladimir Lenin statue be torn down.

Over 90 million people were murdered under Marxist regimes in the 20th century.

Even today Socialists in Venezuela are starving and killing the population.

IIRC,and some of this is such a distant memory some details are shaky,it was the wealthy family of a Seattle doctor that went to Russia to help the communists overthrow the Czar shortly before 1914. He eventually became Lenin's personal physician.

I THINK he ended up dying in a labor camp after Stalin took over from Lenin.

He was really tight friends with a NYC Jewish woman who was a violent revolutionary that went to Russia herself to help fight the revolution,and then had to run back to NYC herself to avoid execution after Stalin took over. She was/is famous,but I can't remember her name for the life of me.

I also seem to remember that doctor's family had the statue raised in memory of their son.

IIRC,he was played by Warren Beatty in the movie "Reds". Reds is well worth watching if you have never seen it.

Yes,that is them! Your memory is clearly better than mine.

The ironic part is Emma Goldman had to flee Russia and come back to NYC to hide because she ended up being on Stalin's hit list. I guess mock trials and immediate executions in the basement one short elevator ride away from the kangaroo court with only a judge and a prosecutor was just too much socialist reality for her to deal with.

Evidently Stalin was more concerned with removing a rebel from his presence than he was in offing her because he clearly could have had her executed in Moscow East (NYC),but didn't.
