Difficult to understand how one might profess total obedience to Christ, yet deny his tenets?
Christ over and over tells to us OBEY those over us, to pray for government.
The "government and society" have decided there are certain social rituals that show allegiance.
I have a friend that is atheist, that does not stop him from standing during the pledge. He lives here, he is a part of the social order that appreciates our society.

Several NASCAR team owners said Sunday they would not condone racers protesting during the national anthem, amid protests by sports players at football and baseball games.

There were no protests reported during “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series in New Hampshire, according to The Associated Press.

Former NASCAR champion Richard Petty told the AP that any member of his team would be fired if they chose to protest the national anthem. Petty now owns Richard Petty Motorsports.

Ya know, economics plays a large part in the American Youth joining the Armed Forces. Young adults wishing to start a family and needing an income to do it are ignorant of the underlying agenda of the ultra wealthy and power hungry elite class that increases their wealth and power at the expense of American taxpayers and the very lives of their children.
Playing the National Anthem, flying tattered flags, and thanking people in perpetuity for their service will never redeem America for drone bombing innocent children around the world.
