I remember being released from elementary school early that day. We weren't told why and I suppose some rumors were out there.

Getting home I remember my step-mom in tears about what, I didn't know. And I eventually figured it out.

Selfishly, I recall total TV coverage focused on it when I just wanted to watch my Saturday morning cartoons.

That is my recollection.

I was a junior in HS coming back with friends from a local burger place at lunch, when the Dallas rock station, KLIF, broke in with news that the President was shot. When we got back to campus, a third of the kids were crying, a third were applauding, and the the other third of us were numb and in shock.

Truly, the day that will live in infamy for many of us.

“The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable.” ~ H. L. Mencken

I was Catholic and in 8th grade. I only remember being bored with all of the coverage and NO CARTOONS!

Ephesians 5:11King James Version (KJV)

And no one has gone to prison for his murder. One of the greatest men ever in the office of the president. He wanted to change the world and have no wars, just peace.
