TRUMP WINS! Rep. Nunes Just Dropped A War Hammer On The Trump-Russia Collusion Nonsense
In an interview on Fox News, we learn that the investigation into the possible Russia collusion during Donald Trumps presidential campaign is supposedly coming to an end.
Republican Rep. Devin Nunes (CA) explains the decision his committee has made to conclude the probe against the Russian interference during the 2016 presidential election.
In an interview on Fox News @ Night with Ed Henry, Nunes was asked why he was ending the Russia probe. He said there was simply nothing more to investigate. Were ending the beginning of our probe, right? Nunes said. So, the four corners agreement which was made early on, about 14 months ago, looking at collusion. And the reason why is that there is no more left to look at.
Henry challenged his response by saying, Adam Schiff says thats not true. We have interviewed 70-something people, Nunes explains. Theres badgering of the witnesses that are occurring. Our members have had enough of it. Continual leaks, of the Democratic witnesses, the people who they want in the middle of the testimony, theres leaks.
When asked if the leaks were from Schiff, Nunes responded by saying, We dont know who they come from, but they sure dont come from us. Theres no reason to continue this. We have no evidence of collusion. We have turned up nothing. Henry pushed back, saying Schiff states there is significant evidence of collusion.
So Schiff says thats not true, Henry says. He says there is significant evidence of collusion. He talks about George Papadopoulos. He talks about the secret meeting at Trump Tower. Is he wrong?
Nunes says those meetings are hardly grounds for collusion.
First of all, Papadopoulos, if you believe any of this, Nunes begins. We dont know what the truth is, because this was supposedly somebody drunk at a bar that passed the intelligence over. Were still trying to get to the bottom of what really happened there, because last time I checked, its OK for Americans to get drunk at a bar in London.
And he was mouthing off to an Australian diplomat, who supposedly passed this over to the State Department. Thats all we know right now. So that is not thats not colluding with Russia. If you take the Trump Tower meeting is it smart to take a Trump Tower meeting with Russians or any meeting with Russians? Probably not. Probably not a good idea.
Henry refers to the meetings as being a bad judgement call.
Theres no evidence of collusion, Nunes states. In fact, we have interviewed most of the people that were in that meeting at Trump Tower, and all of them have said the same thing: it was a very short meeting, no more than 20 minutes long. They talked about Russian adoptions and people came in and out of the room and left, and they didnt have anything. What we never got to the bottom of, which is still I think very important about that meeting at Trump Tower, Fusion GPS, who was working for the Democratic campaign and the Hillary campaign, met with those Russians right before that Trump Tower meeting and right after.
You think maybe they were colluding? Henry asked.
I think anybody with any common sense whatsoever has to figure that Fusion GPS knew about that meeting, Nunes responded.
A final report into the findings of the investigation will be released. In a statement, Nunes said:
After more than a year, the committee has finished its Russia investigation and will now work on completing our report. Once the committees final report is issued, we hope our findings and recommendations will be useful for improving security and integrity for the 2018 midterm elections.
Bloomberg reported that in a Twitter post, Trump wrote the Intelligence Committee had found no evidence of collusion or coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia to influence the 2016 presidential election.
So, will they tell Mueller, et al, that they're to shut it down and go back home to the swamp?
The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable. ~ H. L. Mencken
