Austin Petersen (Petersen campaign)

JEFFERSON CITY — A Missouri candidate running for U.S. Senate tweeted a statement on playing offense in Second Amendment issues.
Austin Petersen, a native of Peculiar, Missouri, stated Wednesday evening "It's time we start talking about legalizing machine guns and repealing the National Firearms Act entirely."

Again Thursday, Petersen backed up his statement calling for citizens to be able to purchase machine guns manufactured after 1986.
Repealing the National Firearms Act is a good first step, but also we should repeal the Hughes Amendment, so citizens can purchase more modern machine guns manufactured after 1986.— Austin Petersen (@AP4Liberty) March 29, 2018

Petersen ran for president in 2016 and was the runner-up for the Libertarian party nomination, second to Gov. Gary Johnson. Petersen announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination in the race Sen. Claire McCaskill's seat July 4, 2017, during a party on his family farm.
His campaign had posted a raffle on Facebook of an AR-15 rifle, but Facebook removed the video and status update about the raffle. Petersen also said his personal account had been blocked for 30 days.

Mr. Peterson obviously violated Facebook rules.

A Facebook representative declined to comment directly, instead referring the Springfield News-Leader to rules barring the "purchase, sale or trade of firearms, ammunition and explosives between private individuals."
And what makes Mr. Peterson think that folks might want to see the national Firearms Act repealed? ;)

Because there are lots of people in Missouri that don't trust Claire McCaskill & Donald?
It's not mandatory that you have a machine gun next to the toilet paper roll, but it might be a good idea to keep 'em guessing about which you're going to grab for first.

What mega account are you talking about?
They shot Bonnie and Clyde with Thompson's. Those are .45 ACP. You can tell by the size of the holes in their car. ;)
