California couple renovating their bathroom find a hilarious time capsule message hidden in the wall from the old owners

A California couple who were renovating their bathroom discovered a time capsule from former owners on Tuesday containing a message reading, 'We remodeled this bathroom Summer 1995... what's wrong with the way we did it?'

Alex Monney and his wife, Jessica, said the handwritten note was discovered inside their San Jose home by contractors carrying out building work. It was accompanied by a smiling photo of the couple and their black and white rabbit.

The message read: 'Hi! We're the Shinsekis! We remodeled this bathroom Summer 1995. If you are reading this, that means you're remodeling the bathroom again. What's wrong with the way we did it?!?!?'

The Shinsekis also introduced their rabbit, Cassie, writing: 'Hi! I'm Cassie the Bunny Rabbit. I lived here too! (I'm potty trained!). I'm going to be the next Cadbury Bunny.'

Alex Monney posted the message on Tuesday in a tweet that has already racked up 112,000 likes. 'We’re remodeling our bathroom and our contractor just sent us this,' he wrote.

The bathroom project was originally introduced on Twitter by Jessica, who wrote: 'If you know me, you know I love house projects.

'However, even I think I might be a little crazy for kicking off a bathroom remodel 4 weeks before I'm due. Bye bye bathroom!'

Twitter users were quick to try and help the couple track down their home's mysterious former owners.

One, called Reverend Jay Shinseki, tweeted back at the couple to say the picture showed his younger brother.

Another user, Elissa Shinseki, said she was trying to 'work out' who was in the photo, but it was not former Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki.

Time capsules in the walls. That is really wild.

Did you hear abut the people who found an old tin can buried along a trail in Colorado? The can was full of old gold coins. It turned out the coins were stolen from the Denver mint. They had to give them back. :-/

They had to give them back.

They stupidly gave them back.

No doubt about that. If they had kept it quiet and sold them with no questions asked, they would have made out like bandits. ;)
