Switzerland's largest crematorium has put in place technology to filter precious metals from the 6,000 or so bodies that are cremated in its facility each year. Only one in three are opting in for the filtering process though.

Gold, silver and platinum nuggets that survive the intense 700 Celsius fires are all that remain after a body is burnt at the Nordheim cremation facility – Switzerland's largest – in Zurich. Approximately 6,000 corpses are cremated here each year.

As of earlier this month, Nordheim has put in place a machine that filters out precious metals from the ashes and the crematorium then sells them to recycling firms for profit.

There has been some debate as to whether the earnings should be returned to the deceased's beneficiaries or go into state coffers. The latter is what is happening. The recycling project is set to earn the city of Zurich 100,000 Swiss francs (€87,700) in revenue each year.

Those being cremated or their representatives can opt out of the program, in which case all the ashes are returned unfiltered to the family of the deceased. One third of all people cremated in September opted in, according to a report by Swiss broadcaster and online news portal SRF.

The only other crematorium in Switzerland to employ the same filtering technique during cremation is in Solothurn, a town situated between Basel and Bern. Since 2013, the Solothurn crematorium has made 40,000 Swiss francs (€35,100) in annual revenue recycling previous metals, according to another report in Swiss daily Blick.

Crematoria in St Gallen, Aarau and Basel are reportedly not set to follow in Zurich's footsteps. "The ashes belong entirely to the relatives, not the crematoria or the state," Ursula Lauper, a spokeswoman for St Gallen's crematorium, told Swiss daily Blick.

In Berlin at the end of WW II at the Fuhrer Bunker, Adolf Hitler gave Heinrich Mueller a briefcase with 50,000 Swiss Francs and said, "This is the best I can do for you."

Mueller accepted the case. Then the following evening he flew a spotter plane to a clearing near the Swiss border that had been used before in clandestine meetings and he crossed the border into Switzerland. He used the cash to buy a home and U.S. Representatives went there to interview him in 1946.

He was brought from Switzerland to the U.S. and given a rank of Major in the U.S. Army and he played the piano for Harry Truman. Mueller's specialty was Soviet counter-intelligence. And we all know where the Soviet Union is today.

The medical school in San Antonio will pick up my carcass for whatever research they want to do to it, then burn the remains and be done with the ashes.

There will be no mega funeral-home expense whenever I croak.

My Conservator at the court house had the audacity to make arrangements to have my body cremated when I die. She has me with one foot in the grave. She never asked me if that was what I wanted. She did that because it was the cheapest way to go. ;)

Remind us again why you still have this conservator.

She is very hard to get rid of it seems. I will drop something on her about Breach of Fiduciary duty when I see her tomorrow. She told me I need to hire a lawyer to get rid of her. Breach of Fiduciary Duty is grounds to fire her. I will drop this on her tomorrow when I see her. What is the harm in her Breach of Fiduciary Duty? She made arrangements to have my body cremated when I die. She never asked me about what I wanted. She did that because it was cheapest way to go. I bet she does not even know what that is. ;)

Take a handwritten letter telling her that you have no further use or need for her and that she is immediately terminated and that you will engage a lawyer if she takes any further actions on your behalf. Sign it, date it, and make a copy to be filed with the County Clerk's office.

I am not an attorney, but sometimes play one on algore's internet.

I saw a good Catholic friend of mine a few months ago at a mini-football game reunion. He is opting for cremation and gave me pause since we were brought up to think it was a taboo method.

I plan to pre-arrange my funeral one of these years and must decide on that issue.

I guess if I'm paying out of pocket while I'm alive, the decision will be easy peasy.

Signed,

Thanks for this, Lod.

First thing I need to do is to get a full printout of everything she has done so I can see the income and what she has paid, how much, and when she paid it.

Then I can put in for a full refund of my Federal income taxes that she paid abut 2 or 3 years ago. I told her I was entitled to a full refund of my Federal Income taxes. She said, "The Judge will never allow it." Of course not. The Judge is a part of the same system she is and he will rule EVERY TIME to uphold that system even if the ruling is unlawful.

I know this solely from being a member of Save A Patriot Fellowship which is now out of business. John Kotmair was forced to shut down operations after the IRS seized his records and got the courts to rule they could not sell certain publications. The last time I sent them any money was in 2009. I found a Postal Money Order receipt here with that date on it.

save-a-patriot.org/

The website says that John Kotmair passed away December 13, 2017.

BTW, the Clerk of the Court is on the same floor that she is. That is the place to file any paperwork. ;)

I think maybe I should have the letter notarized too. It would add more authority and she would not be able to cover it up so easily. ;)
