President Donald Trump blasted MSNBCs Mika Brzezinski for using a homophobic slur while referring to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, saying a conservative would be banned permanently from television.
Brzezinski, while addressing Pompeos avoiding questions about the murder of Jamal Khashoggi during an interview, asked, is that a patriot speaking? Or a wannabe dictators butt boy? Im dead serious. Im asking: Are these the words of a patriot?
If it was a Conservative that said what crazed Mika Brzezinski stated on her show yesterday, using a certain horrible term, that person would be banned permanently from television...., Trump wrote on Twitter on Thursday.
U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell, who is openly gay, criticized Brzezinski for her comment on Twitter shortly after the segment aired.
Outrageous, he wrote. This is totally unacceptable & deeply disturbing. Sexualizing gay people this way is designed to control them & minimize our worth.
The Morning Joe co-host apologized for her SUPER BAD choice of words, but Grenell remained unimpressed.
Accepting apologies is important. We all fail. But I dont see that youve actually apologized to gays? Your words demean, mock and therefore try to control whole groups by minimizing our humanity.
Trump added on Twitter, ....She will probably be given a pass, despite their terrible ratings. Congratulations to @RichardGrenell, our great Ambassador to Germany, for having the courage to take this horrible issue on!
