Michael Raska, an assistant professor at Singapore’s S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, was quoted as saying in the article. “Among the issues,” Reuters noted, “China’s J-20 and J-31 stealth fighters cannot super-cruise, or fly at supersonic speeds like their closest rivals, Lockheed Martin’s F-22 and F-35 stealth planes, without using afterburners.” China’s first fifth-generation aircraft is having a major issue.

As Dave Majumdar previously covered , China recently declared that its J-20 fighter jet had attained initial operational capability. “China's latest J-20 stealth fighter has been commissioned into the air force's combat service,” China’s Defense Ministry said on February 9. Chinese analysts touted the country’s achievement as breaking the Western stranglehold on stealthy aircraft. "The J-20 will also change the history of the air force in Asia-Pacific region. In the past, only the U.S. and its allies like Japan were capable of arming stealth fighter jets. But now, their monopoly in this region has been broken by China's J-20," Song Zongping, a military expert, was quoted as saying in official media.

What a shame. And no Clintons in office to save them with another Loral deal, either.

Consider the source: a commie chink propping up his corrupt and evil regime.

I'll take the F-22 all day long, it's the baddest fighter in the air right now, by every measure. Russia and China are making bad-faith claims about their own "stealth" fighters.

But they cost 10 times as much so for the same cost they can have 10 to 1 advantage and against those odds our fighters don't have a chance.

That's not how it goes down: their pilots know that they're on a one-way mission in a shootout - they have ZERO chance against F-22's overflying a herd of F-35's, they ALL die at our hand. Remember, the Chinkernese have NO 'combat doctrine' built on experience, just a bunch of STOLEN theory with little red books of cute sayings on the dashboard to bolster their confidence.

The F-35 is a joke. It has over 800 faults. The UK took delivery of 6 and 5 could not get off the ground. The F-22 asphyxiates its pilots.

I'll take the SU-50 any day. Besides, Iran, China and Russia all have missiles that would instantly take down all of our aircraft carriers and forward military bases. Planes need support to fly. And none could get through the S-400. No such thing as stealth aircraft. Does not work as advertised.

Dollar will die by the end of 2020 anyway. No money to hire pilots and buy fuel for those fancy planes.

Do you recall the movie, Red Dawn where the girl comes upon a downed American pilot? When he got to talking with them they found out there were 5 Red jets against him. He got four of them before the fifth got him. ;)

And when China sells its holdings of U.S. debt into the secondary market all of those dollars will come home to roost. The inflation rate will likely be as bad as when Carter was POTUS.

Not to mention that China intends to back the Yuan with 40% gold. Now that the IMF has moved to Beijing from Washington it signals a sea shift in the currencies and the end of Bretton Woods. ;)

Does it matter? At the present time the U.S. Dollar is backed by nothing but promises. No gold or even silver.

Matter of fact, Ft. Knox is empty except for 90% pure gold from melted coins. The FED has taken the gold as collateral on the debt. So as the debt rises, so does the value of gold.

The gold is in sub-basement of Federal Reserve Bank of New York. There was even a movie made about that. One of the Die Hard flicks. ;)

That is the problem when you are outnumbered 10 to 1. You may be far better and you may kill 5 or more, but 1 of the 10 will get you. Ever watched a wasp against a hive of honeybees. The wasp kills a lot of honeybees, but in the end, the wasp is killed because it is stung too many times.

Confidence in the economy. 40% is enough provided China doesn't print too many Yaun. Just knowing the Yaun can be exchanged for gold is enough because it is easier to spend Yaun than gold since gold can be coated or plated. Therefore, not everyone is willing to accept gold.

I was using a Skil Saw at work last week. Those used to be made in Chicago. This one was Made in China. Confidence in the economy? I was using one of those reciprocating saws and it crapped out. It was Made in China too.

Now as long as all those dollars China has loaned the U.S. in the form of Treasury Notes do not come flooding back as China sells them into the secondary market causing massive inflation, well you should know the story. ;)

A good reason for having a sack or two of junk-silver stashed away.

I'm not surprised that some items made in China are poor quality. Just as I'm not surprised that items made in the USA are poor quality.

I suspect China may be reducing the amount of dollars or treasuries they hold. Regardless, even if they don't or do it very slowly, I expect that the dollar will continue to worth less (AKA inflation).

If or most likely WHEN it comes to that, junk silver will be easier to spend than gold coins and gold bars. Nevertheless, I believe it is better to buy and hold gold than to hold dollars. Gold may be difficult to spend especially for everyday purchased. However, for a small discount, gold can be exchanged for dollars or whatever is use as money at the time.

(Edit3) Loddy, my man, I wonder if Dice ran into some sharpie, like you or me, if he would actually stand up to his end of the bargain? Seems too good, or unreal to be true.

It is not that they are ignorant, it is that they don't believe it's actually silver. About 40 years ago, someone stood at Hollywood and Vine offering to sell $5 bills for $1 and people would just walk on by without closely looking at the $5 bill. They just knew they had to be counterfeit.
