Enjoying a well done story set in 1844 starring the elegant Irish beauty Gene Tierney, Vincent Price, and Walter Huston (whom Harrison Ford modeled himself after).
I highly recommend this movie; a better story than anything I've seen in years. Not only is Gene Tierney superb as the feisty farm girl transplanted to the wealthy Hudson Valley (and ohhh, so easy on the eyes), it is also a peek into an interesting bit of unknown history:
USA! USA! USA! Bringing you democracy, or else! there were strains of VD that were incurable, and they were first found in the Philippines and then transmitted to the Korean working girls via US military. The 'incurables' we were told were first taken back to a military hospital in the Philippines to quietly die. – 4um
