Trump Blasts Swampy COVID Relief Bill Packed with Pork Special interests are pigging out on the latest COVID “relief” bill passed by our members of Congress – and President Trump isn’t letting it go unnoticed.
With the left-wing corporate-owned mainstream media lined up behind Nancy Pelosi and the corrupt Washington establishment, President Trump took to Twitter to cut through the lies and blast the $900 billion con job on the American people.
“It’s called the Covid relief bill, but it has almost nothing to do with Covid,” said President Trump.
The package “really is a disgrace” and is full of “wasteful” items, Trump added.
While the package includes one-time $600 payments to a swath of Americans, President Trump argued that the checks should be more than doubled to $2,000.
To many small business owners and working families, a mere $600 does nothing to make up for the months of draconian shutdowns, which has resulted in the cancellation of the First Amendment and government confiscation of private property.
Needless to say, the Swamp Creatures in Washington D.C. were stunned to have their corrupt money grab called out and were left speechless over the weekend.
President Trump has now served four years in office pursuing an American First agenda – and yet the thick-headed and arrogant Beltway Swamp Monsters remain perpetually shocked to have a leader in the White House fighting for the American people, instead of catering to special interests that want to rob U.S. taxpayers blind.
The $900 billion COVID “relief” bill was bundled into a $1.4 trillion spending bill, which was passed by veto-proof majorities in both chambers of Congress and sent to President Trump’s desk for his signature.
The bill sailed through the House of Representatives by 359-53 and the Senate by 92-6.
This event reminds us that President Trump, who is locked in a battle litigating the results of the 2020 election, is still first and foremost fighting for the American people.
“Congress found plenty of money for foreign countries, lobbyists and special interests, while sending the bare minimum to the American people who need it. It wasn’t their fault. It was China’s fault,” said President Trump.
The only “relief” in the COVID “relief” bill is special interests “relieving” themselves all over American taxpayers.
What exactly is in this “relief” bill for the rest of us?
For starters, the COVID “relief” bill includes $25 million for “gender programs” in Pakistan – you know, like staging Drag Queen Story Hours for the Taliban – and $40 million for the Kennedy Center.
If this makes your blood boil, you’re not alone.
While Congress throws bread crumbs at American families who are suffering, the COVID “relief” bill is sending $85.5 million to Cambodia, $130 million to Nepal, and $134 million to Myanmar. Apparently, U.S. taxpayers are the piggy bank for the rest of the world.
And what does self-proclaimed president-elect Joe Biden have to say about this pathetic and bottomlessly corrupt relief bill?
“Congress did its job this week,” said Biden speaking from his Wilmington, Delaware, basement.
Go back to sleep, Joe. He is tired and so are his politics.
The COVID “relief” bill has more pork than a pig farm. Along with sending hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars overseas, the COVID “‘relief” bill also provides funding for a “study” of the “Springfield (Illinois) Race Riot,” which happened in 1908, and $1 billion for the Smithsonian museum in Washington D.C.
All of which, of course, is critical funding in a time when the unemployment rate is near levels unseen since the Great Depression.
A popular trick of Washington slimesters (e.g., elected members of Congress like Nancy Pelosi) is to pack pork fat in emergency legislation like the COVID “relief” bill so that there is less scrutiny of the funding and less pushback to their abuse of power – because the need for essential relief funds is urgent.
Congress could have passed a COVID relief bill that was one third the size of the bailout package passed, but the special interests lined up at the trough couldn’t resist taking taxpayers to the cleaners.
Corrupt insiders like Nancy Pelosi will never say “no” to the special interests. Neither, it appears, will Senate Republicans. Only President Trump stands between the American people and the corrupt special interests that have no problem stealing from the American taxpayer and bankrupting the future of our country.
