FWIW, Crocket's gun is a Bren 10, 10mm. Kind of a rare bird as far as the Bren went, 10mm didn't get popular until later. In the later days of 'Vice' Sonny carried a S&W 645 [45 ACP, SS]. I have one of those. Double action 45, kinda big and clunky.

My carry gun was a S&W 669, 9MM, SS. A lot smaller than the 645. Double stack mags. The "6" in the first digit means stainless, blue S&Ws first digit was 4.

469 was blue, 669 was stainless.
