My favorite period of history is the United States in the years 1870- 1915.

Why?

Because it is the freest period in the history of man.

Was it a libertarian panacea? Nope. There were, in fact, infringements on liberty, such as the violation of women’s rights, the Sherman Antitrust Act of 1870, compulsory school-attendance laws in Massachusetts, and others.

But in terms of economic liberty, there is nothing that can match it.

Imagine:

No income taxation or IRS. People were free to keep everything they earned.

No welfare, including Social Security and Medicare. Charity was entirely voluntary.

No drug laws. People were free to consume, possess, or distribute whatever they wanted.

No immigration controls. Everyone was free to come to the United States.

No minimum-wage laws.

Very few economic regulations. Economic enterprise was free of governmental control.

No foreign wars, interventions, wars of aggression, coups, state- sponsored assassinations, torture, or indefinite detention.

No passports.

No Pentagon.

No enormous standing military establishment or military-industrial complex. Instead, simply a basic military force.

No CIA.

No NSA.

No FBI.

No foreign aid.

No foreign military bases.

No departments of education, labor, commerce, and others.

No regulatory departments or agencies.

No compulsory school-attendance laws or public-school systems (except in Massachusetts).

No Federal Reserve System.

No paper money.

No gun control.

That was, without a doubt, the most unusual society in history. It was also the most prosperous society in history. Americans had discovered the key to ending poverty. It was also the most charitable nation in history. When Americans were free to accumulate unlimited amounts of wealth, they used it to build the hospitals, museums, libraries, and charitable foundations.

Why is all this important to us? Because it shows what can be accomplished. If our American ancestors could achieve these things, then so can we. In other words, we don’t have to resign ourselves to accepting reform of the welfare-warfare state way of life that statists have foisted upon our land.

I say: Let’s make the following New Year’s resolution: Let’s reject welfare-warfare state reform, which only constitutes a warmed-over form of serfdom. Let’s instead resolve to achieve what our ancestors achieved and then build on it, with the aim of bringing into existence the freest, most prosperous, peaceful, charitable, and harmonious society in history.

The years 1870-1877 weren't so free for South Carolinians. After raping, burning, and pillaging South Carolina, the US government overthrew its State Constitution and installed a majority black legislature, and federal troops occupied South Carolina and ruled its citizens at the point of a bayonet.

The US government styled this atrocity "Reconstuction".

years 1870- 1915.

No income taxation or IRS. People were free to keep everything they earned.

The income tax has been in effect since 1862-1863 (?).

Then, as now, it is an indirect tax, an excise or PRIVILEGE tax:

"...F.2d 877, 880 (M.D. Tenn. 1937) (“The terms ‘excise’ tax and privilege’ tax are synonymous and the two are often used interchangeably.”)..." Waters v. Chumley, No. E2006-02225-COA-RV-CV CoA of Tenn. (2007)..."

"...PREFACE

The Internal Revenue Code, approved February 10, 1939, and published in this volume as Public Act No. 1 of the Seventy-sixth Congress, is the first Federal act of its kind since the Revised Statutes of the United States, approved June 22, 1874. Title XXXV of the Revised Statutes embraces the general and permanent statutes relat- ing exclusively to internal revenue, in force on December 1, 1873.

The internal revenue title, which comprises all of the Code except the preliminary sections relating to its enactment, is intended to con- tain all the United States statutes of a general and permanent nature relating exclusively to internal revenue, in force on January 2, 1939; also such of the temporary statutes of that description as relate to taxes the occasion of which may arise after the enactment of the Code. These statutes are codified without substantive change and with only such change of form as is required by arrangement and consolidation. The title contains no provision, except for effective date, not derived from a law approved prior to January 3, 1939.

The derivation of the title, in its textual sequence, is shown in the appendix, part I, table A. Conversely, the placement of the statutes in the title, cited in their chronological order, is shown in table B. The Revised Statutes of the United States and the Statutes at Large of the United States are the sources of the law codified. The Revised Statutes cover the period ended December 1, 1873. The Statutes at Large codified cover the period following December 1, 1873, and are published in the 35 volumes numbered 18 to 52, inclusive. The separate enactments carried into the internal revenue title, wholly or in part, from the Statutes at Large are 143 in number, exclusive of 93 statutes involving express amendment, reenactment, or repeal. The 277 Revised Statutes sections codified were derived from 21 basic statutes. The whole body of internal revenue law in effect on January 2, 1939, therefore, has its ultimate origin in 164 separate enactments of Congress. The earliest of these was approved July 1, 1862; the latest, June 16, 1938...."

Affirmation From 1862 Income Tax Return

The "PRIVILEGE" is working for and/or receiving "income" (a legal term) from the Federal Government.

[Be sure to see page 5 : "SALARIES AND PAY OF OFFICERS AND PERSONS IN THE SERVICE OF THE UNITED STATES" (They're called "Employees" now, another sneaky LEGAL term) losthorizons.com/Newslett...s/Pagesfrom1939IRCode.pdf ].

(I suppose when the Banksters steal our fiat money in banks, pensions, etc. (after they stole our gold and silver, and through their contrived wars, our COUNTRY through their fraudulent DEBT), and when they start dishing out their "allowance" of around $1,000 a month, they will consider that "income" and will tax accordingly, before we see a penny of it.)

It will be interesting to see if the Dems decide to start Act II of their play after new House of Representatives gears up for business. I am worried Biden/Garland et al is really stupid enough to give it a try.

“I am not one of those weak-spirited, sappy Americans who want to be liked by all the people around them. I don’t care if people hate my guts; I assume most of them do. The important question is whether they are in a position to do anything about it. My affections, being concentrated over a few people, are not spread all over Hell in a vile attempt to placate sulky, worthless shits.” - William S Burroughs
