That's a BIG-ASS gun. It looks like it about ripped his arm out of his shoulder during the first shot.

1 inch = 25.4mm.

Single shot lever action rifles are for wussies. I'll hold out for the fully automatic version.

I wonder what it would do to 4 politicians?

...that rifle (S/N 4) sold for $22,325...

It would be a lot more cost effective to pay Sling Blade to come hit me in the shoulder with a sledgehammer.

According to Rock Island Auction's description of the rifle, it fires a 1750 grain bullet at 1350 feet per second. That's a muzzle energy of only 7081 ft lb. Seems pretty low, so I suspect those numbers are wrong?

The .460 Weatherby Magnum produces a ME of 7389 ft lb, and the .50 BMG twice that.

Maybe, but I doubt it. It probably has a trajectory not unlike that of a rainbow.

Flatter, further, faster was the Barrett's motto when they developed their .416 in response to California's banning of the .50cal. They also stopped servicing the .50s owned by LEO departments in the state.

Yeah no. Unless I was hunting a Tyrannosaurus, it has no use being in my arsenal. Then again… While I am a pretty big guy, that thing would probably wreck my shoulder after the second shot. Props to that guy for sure.

Benching 400lbs is no small feat either.

Most I was ever able to was 325.

Anyway, neat toy. Not sure what practical use I would have other than maybe part of a booby trap or some kind of automated turret that could be fed like a cannon. Because that is more or less what you are looking at with this thing. A small cannon.

I remembered that.

They also stopped servicing the .50s owned by LEO departments in the state.

Thanks for the refresher. I'd forgotten about that.

Barrett knows how to stick it to them. ;)
