Coral Snake Song - The Buckskin Bag of Gold (To Poppy, Clintoon and Shrubya about emerging Wantagate scandal Thou shalt NOT Steal!)

Original song by Henry Clay Work (1869)
Update Parody by Coral Snake (2006)

Midi - The Buckskin Bag of Gold
Look under 1869

(1.)
Last night I picked up on the net,
And saw with both my eyes.
On a website called Arctic Beacon,
A very grand surprise!
It showed both parties' crookedness,
The story Wanta told,
Of Poppy, Clintoon, the one called Shrub,
With the stolen bag of gold.

(CHORUS)
Yes! (Ha! ha!) Yes! These are the men,
Who fit the crooked mold.
That's Poppy, Clintoon, the one called Shrub,
With the stolen bag of gold.
Crooks! (Ha! ha!) they hit like flash!
Their crimes brazen and bold,
That's Poppy, Clintoon, the one called Shrub,
With the stolen bag of gold.

(2.)
The greatest thing I ever saw,
Wantagate's starting now.
In orange jumpsuits for many years,
The book thrown at them, pow.
Should be the fate of old Poppy,
Clintoon and Shrubya cold,
Of Poppy, Clintoon, the one called Shrub,
With the stolen bag of gold.

(CHORUS)
Yes! (Ha! ha!) Yes! These are the men,
Who fit the crooked mold.
That's Poppy, Clintoon, the one called Shrub,
With the stolen bag of gold.
Crooks! (Ha! ha!) they hit like flash.
Their crimes brazen and bold,
That's Poppy, Clintoon, the one called Shrub,
With the stolen bag of gold.

(3.)
They had the chance to give some back,
But one Shrubya by name.
Had a plan to get that return stopped,
So to the Fed he came.
He threw the wrench into the works,
So crooked, proud and cold,
For Poppy, Clintoon, the one called Shrub,
With the stolen bag of gold.

(CHORUS)
Yes! (Ha! ha!) Yes! These are the men,
Who fit the crooked mold.
That's Poppy, Clintoon, the one called Shrub,
With the stolen bag of gold.
Crooks! (Ha! ha!) they hit like flash.
Their crimes brazen and bold,
That's Poppy, Clintoon, the one called Shrub,
With the stolen bag of gold.

(4.)
But to the press this seems unknown?
Because the truth they've bent.
It is time to raid this traitors' bank,
And return every cent.
Before they take off in the night,
Those whom their nation sold.
Through Poppy, Clintoon, the one called Shrub,
With the stolen bag of gold.

(CHORUS)
Yes! (Ha! ha!) Yes! These are the men,
Who fit the crooked mold.
That's Poppy, Clintoon, the one called Shrub,
With the stolen bag of gold.
Crooks! (Ha! ha!) they hit like flash.
Their crimes brazen and bold,
That's Poppy, Clintoon, the one called Shrub,
With the stolen bag of gold.

Nice work, dead-on lyrics.

I read one of your bites a while back about the despicable "Straight Shooters" website, and it was just as hateful and disgusting as you said it was. That's cool how you can find all those crazy sites full of slimy rapscallions and bring them to others' attention.

Whenever Doug from Upland comes up with one of his parody "hits from the 1960s I get the compulsion to come down with one of mine from the 1860s. ;c)
