Fox News Spins Plane Accident; Says It Could Affect Election

Hysterical reactions invoke 9/11 as baseball star confirmed as pilot, passport found on street

Paul Joseph Watson & Alex Jones /Prison http://Planet.com | October 11 2006

The FBI and Homeland Security are now labeling a small aircraft hitting an apartment building on Manhattan's Upper East Side at 72nd Street and York Avenue, as a probable accident. Is this a government psy-op intended to invoke memories of 9/11 as the mid-term elections approach?

On Fox News' Your World With Neil Cavuto, Cavuto suggested during a conversation with Republican Congressman Peter King that the event would possibly affect the upcoming mid-term election by reminding Americans of the horror of 9/11.

It has now been reported that the pilot or one of the occupants of the plane was New York Yankees baseball star Cory Lidle. The fact that the accident involves a celebrity means the networks can justifiably talk about it for another three weeks and in that sense - invoking memories of 9/11 - it could impact the election.

Reports that Lidle's passport was found on the street is also being seen as suspicious by some 9/11 truthers - because it would seemingly prop up the inconceivable notion that Mohammed Atta and other hijacker's passports survived and were discovered. However, in the case of Lidle this could easily be explained by eyewitness reports that most of the plane debris did not enter the building and ended up on the street below. This is how investigators have already been able t o identify the plane in just the short time after the crash.

Early reports that the crash involved a helicopter have now been dismissed. The FBI have confirmed two people are dead but say there is no "indication of terrorism."

"The initial indication is that there is a terrible accident," said Department of Homeland Security spokesman Russ Knocke.

Obviously one of the following explanations will be offered as to what happened - either Lidle was hopped up on a cocktail of drugs, was drunk, wanted to commit suicide, wanted to impress his friends, or the foggy conditions simply contributed to pilot error.

NBC reports that Lidle was "not instrument rated to fly the plane and could only fly when visibility was good."

News networks reported that President Bush immediately ordered NORAD to defend the city of New York and other major cities. Whatever the nature of this incident, Bush is getting an opportunity to grandstand - and his Neo-Con mouthpieces at Fox News are rolling around in the hysteria like pigs in shit.

Networks also reported that the plane flew on the edge of a restricted airspace zone and thus was not flagged for interception.

The fevered reaction to this apparent accident painfully remains us of the hysteria that America remains entranced by five years and one month after 9/11.

Previous examples where small planes have deliberately been flown into buildings have been played down by the U.S. government - including a Clinton-era incident where a Cessna was flown into the White House.

Will the apartment building collapse in its own footprint like the twin towers? We know that's what happens when planes hit buildings so we'll wait and see what transpires.

BBC News reported that people who lived next to the building were panicking that it might collapse (from fire that was only seen emerging from four floors and is now out). That in itself is an example of how the legacy of hysteria from 9/11 has replaced common sense.

More updates to follow. (2 images)

ABC News joins in...

Plane Crash Brings Back Awful Memories

It was on the mind of Beata Jankowska, who works as a housekeeper on the 33rd floor of the very building that was hit, on East 72nd Street close to the East River in Manhattan.

"Everything reminds me of Sept. 11," said Jankowska, who was preparing a dinner of chicken marsala when she heard an explosion, saw flames below her out the window and then raced down 33 flights of stairs to get out, taking nothing with her.

"I was very afraid," she said. "I remember Sept. 11. I was watching that from the very first second."

Four dead as plane crashes into New York high-rise

rattling New Yorkers' nerves exactly one month after the fifth anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attack.

The deaths were confirmed by the city medical examiner's office. There was no word yet on injuries linked to the crash [...]The small private aircraft, with four seats, took off from New Jersey's Teterboro Airport around 2.30pm (1830 GMT).

A federal aviation official, speaking on condition of anonymity because the investigation was continuing, said the plane was a Cirrus SR20 - an aircraft equipped with a parachute designed to let it float to earth in case of a mishap.

The plane had flown around the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbour, then headed up the East River corridor before it slammed in the building, authorities said.

Normally; this statement would make me chuckle, but as many times as '9/11' is being mentioned by the compliant media; one has to wonder.

And we'd be viciously labeled communists if we broke away from the government groupthink?

Making a dash for Canada? I wonder if DHS is requiring absurd amounts of ID to pilot a plane.

My passport expired & I resist invitations to visit in Canada, as U.S. Customs almost mandate a passport, upon returning.

If I was doing any traveling, I'd get another passport & keep it handy.

Only a couple months or so left before they add the RFID chip to the passports. Get a new one today! My passport is 6 years old, I should too.

So when is "passortium" going to be added to the periodic table of elements? Must be some of that reverse-engineered stuff from the Roswell incident. I'd like to have a car made out of passportium, the wonder material of the 21st century.

You can "automatically" renew your passport...if it's over ten years old, it's a whole new ball game.

Get a couple of new pics, and send yours in immediately, otherwise, it's crazy - I chose not to renew ours.

Someone at DU had a hilarious post. It had that picture at the top photoshopped to say (Small plane (D) crashes into ....). I was at work and trying hard not to fall on the floor.

One of my friends at work is a hardcore conservative. He hates Clinton. Me, I like the guy, but what the heck. Anyway, he has kids about the same age as mine, and while he was already off the map for the GOP, because of the war and Bush spending money like a drunken deserter, the Foley thing has him going through the roof.

Gather 'round the campfire...

Fighter Jets Watch Skies in U.S., Canada

"The fact we were able to have dozens of fighters airborne in a very brief period of time … sends a message to the terrorists that we're ready to respond."

The North American Aerospace Defense Command said that the patrols would continue for some time and that the fighters then would remain on high alert. NORAD would not provide details on the flights or at what point they would be discontinued.

The military would not say exactly how many fighters were on patrol or identify exactly which cities had fighters circling the skies, citing security reasons.

Lidle's plane took off from Teterboro airport in NJ, heading to Nashville, TN. Nashville is located Southwest of NJ. Why was Lidel over the East side of Manhattan, which was some 100 plus miles North of Teterboro airport?

Odd....

Apartment No. 46D in 524 East 72nd Street housed an MI6 officer, Ian Forbes McCredie, in 1992. Apartments 46D and 46E are shown below to be held by David Erle as Trustee. It is common for British intelligence to have the US State Department listed as trustee or owner of its US residences. Other MI6 officers have lived along East 72nd Street and elsewhere in the neighborhood (see link above). North Korea's representative to the UN lives nearby as well, as do a slew of other diplomats and spies.

I was once at a cocktail party given by the British Ambassador to the UN at his official residence. It was in the East 50's, as I recall, in another building overlooking the East River.

MI-6 people largely have diplomatic cover, and their ostensible jobs would presumably be at the British Embassy/Consulate in NYC, which I presume is near the ambassador's residence.

So that apartment would be near the workplace.

Katrina was America's Chernobyl.
