Sean Hannity has another of his "Freedom Concerts" coming up this week, which he claims is "to benefit the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund for the children of America's military heroes. But a closer look indicates that not much money from the concerts goes to the scholarship fund after all.

Interestingly, Hannity's website doesn't reveal how much of the ticket price goes to the fund. But a page from the website of KFMB in San Diego, sponsor of the last concert, indicates that only $4 went to the Freedom Alliance, the parent charity of the scholarship fund. As davefromqueens pointed out in his DailyKos diary, there's no guarantee that any of that $4 goes to the scholarship fund.

The FAQ section of Hannity's site states that no portion of the ticket purchase is tax deductible.

After studying Freedom Alliance's tax returns, davefromqueens concludes that LESS THAN 1% of the money from the concerts goes to helping the children of military families.

I hope to get my own copy of the tax return soon and will report more once I have had a chance to review it.

...and the rest helps line Hannity's pockets.

Only a commie, ratty, rat, rat would smear Sean and the boyz. Now pardon me while I score Limbaugh quanties of oxycontin.

There wouldn't be any need for this fund in the FIRST place if Sean and his neo-con masters didn't have us wrapped up in this ridiculous war. Maybe these concerts is how he copes with his guilt.

Sean is as phoney as his bump music....one would think that the section he uses is all red white and blue ...It's when you add the other lyrics that the message of the song comes through....it has nothing to do with red white and blue rather it's about a women who kill's her husband and declairs it's Independence Day

On Independence Day...

Let freedom ring Let the white dove sing Let the whole world know that today is the day of a reckoning Let the weak be strong Let the right be wrong Roll the stone away Let the guilty pay It's Independence Day

Well she seemed alright by dawn's early light Though she looked a lil worried and weak She tried to pretend he wasn't drinking again But Daddy left the proof on her cheek And I was only eight years old that summer And I always seemed to be in the way So I took myself down to the fair in town On Independence Day...

Well, word gets around in a small, small town They said he was a dangerous man But Momma was proud, and she stood her ground She knew she was on the losin' end Some folks whispered, some folks talked But everybody looked the other way And when time ran out there was no one about On Independence Day...

Let freedom ring Let the white dove sing Let the whole world know that today is the day of a reckoning Let the weak be strong Let the right be wrong Roll the stone away Let the guilty pay It's Independence Day

Well, she lit up the sky that Fourth of July By the time that the firemen come They just put out the flames and took down some names and sent me to the county home Now I ain't sayin' it's right, or it's wrong But maybe it's the only way Talk about your revolution It's Independence Day...

That's a revelation...to me, at least. Thanks! I'll be passing that along to some Hannity listeners I know...

Notice how most of the 'stars' at his concerts are country-western artists? Should have seen that one coming...one would have thought that the goobers would have caught on, because I sure didn't. Of course; I don't listen to that crap...

This is hilarious, Robby. I never knew Sean's theme song was about a battered woman. The man is a full blown asshat :)

Let freedom ring Let the white dove sing ...

So what's the clip that follows the murder-your-husband-abuser two-step lullaby, the song that sounds like the victory march for a Nuremburg rally? It's sung by the Choir From Hell, all Wagnerian and stuff, ends with the words "Freedom Ring". Is that another song entirely or just a retake on the country song?

Wow. Wonder if limpballs has been out of the country to play with young boys lately?

Wrong.

The video is about a young girl who's parents are drunks and fight and hit each other.

They young girl goes to a parade and sees clowns hitting each other. She gets upset and wants them to stop. (I presume that she doesn't like fighting but I could be wrong)

Meanwhile, her mother burns down the house with both her husband and her in it.

The independence day was for the girl. IT HAPPENED on Independence day, during the parade.

It is a sad commentary. Better to have no parents than drunk parents?
