Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get pics of either Tom Cryer or Robert Lawrence. It was a great time spent with these principled, courageous, and inspiring "freedom fighters." I wish you all could have been there. I'll be posting a youtube of Ed Griffin's outstanding and informational speech at last night's banquet as soon as Danny Romero, from WTPRN, gets it uploaded. It's a must hear for everyone. (8 images)

Beautiful photos, christine.

You really light up the room with your smile.

Oops, why did I have to say that? Now I'm humming the theme song of "The Mary Tyler Moore Show."

I am probably going to buy a modern gun soon and I'll check that out. Right now I use a Mosin-Nagant. I bought several some years ago becasue they were really cheap and could bring down an Elk or a bear. The old Russian ammo is only three buck for 20. Seems to work fine and you can afford to rat hole a huge pile of the stuff.

I was looking for a scope mount a few days ago and found this comparison of an AK, AR-15 and a Mosin. I thought it wss funny.

AK vs. AR vs. Mosin Nagant

hahaha, that was good. I liked the teflon absurdities on the AR side.

I picked mine up from a local private owner for $275 w/30rd. mag, cleaning kit and a case and it looked like it hadn't even been fired. they have the IZHMASH receiver and the plastic furniture is a real plus. takes the standard AK side scope mount, also.

the 308 or 30-06 might be more to your to your liking. they have a few variants in that chamber, though I'm not up on hi-cap mag availability for them. iirc, they only run about $75 more than the 7.62x39 from what I remember seeing on gunbroker.com about six months ago.

Gilberts has a 308 Sporter for a ballpark idea.
