There is a lot of speculation floating around the "Net" and elsewhere regarding the meaning of four major undersea communications cables running into Iran being cut.

This action, and the fact that it was four and not just one or even two, suggests strongly that someone wants to cut off Iran's ability to communicate with the outside world.

So, the speculation who? And why?
