Has anyone else driven down a street that is basically two-way, but curbside parking restricts flow temporarily to one-way? That is the subject of tonights rant. After breaking up snowpack on my driveway this afternoon I decided to take the car for a little spin to shake off what I'd gone all lazy about getting with the broom. Anyway, after getting about .002 on the odometer I noticed a vehicle headed north on my street, and using the differential calculus eyeset I was born with determined they were moving. As there were cars on both sides of the street I decided to pull aside and let them pass, as even with a hearty flogging of the accelerator I's only managaed to fishtail back and forth up to a speed of about 15. It took a FULL minute for this idiot to realise I was giving right-of-way, and after that the stupid fucker turned toward me and put on turn-signal, so I had to gun the mustang through an opening with 8 inches on either side of me or we'd have been stuck there all night.

I despise traffic lights more than drivers. I feel like someone has put a green- light-changer chip in my car. Those poor people behind me.

We all just sit there at the red light for what seems like two and a half eternities, watching no traffic go by.

I remember going on vacation as a little kid, probably about 1970, to St Louis, MO of all places. I remember driving mile after mile watching the synchronized stoplights change, that was a minor revelation. I was only able to repeat the experience in my hometown at 4:00 am with constant brake and accelerator input.

You know, I think the timing on the lights around here has apparently been set up by sadistic lunatics.

I'm originally from Kokomo, those people are like the Albert Speer of stoplights.

lol!

In San Diego they put in left turn green arrows at every major intersection, making every red light at least 3 minutes. I'm of the opinion no one in San Diego can make a left turn w/o a green arrow.

Sounds like roundabouts are needed, so no one can ever go over 25 mph.

That reminds, I have a vague memory of a friend of my sister who would go around blocks in order to avoid making a left turn against traffic.
