HILLARY Clinton has left her home and is heading for New York City where she will give a key speech at the close of the Democratic presidential primary race.
The former first lady left her residence in affluent Chappaqua, 50km north of New York City in a five-car convoy in the company of her husband and former president Bill Clinton, her campaign team said.
Senator Clinton is to speak at the Baruch sports college in downtown Manhattan, after polls close in Montana and South Dakota, the last two states holding Democratic primary contests in the nomination race.
Her appearance comes amid widespread speculation she may concede defeat to her rival Barack Obama, who has reportedly secured the 2118 delegates needed to clinch the party's nomination to run against Republican John McCain in the November presidential election.
