The Treatment of Bush Has Been a Disgrace

What must our enemies be thinking?

Earlier this year, 12,000 people in San Francisco signed a petition in support of a proposition on a local ballot to rename an Oceanside sewage plant after George W. Bush. The proposition is only one example of the classless disrespect many Americans have shown the president. [Commentary] AP

According to recent Gallup polls, the president's average approval rating is below 30% -- down from his 90% approval in the wake of 9/11. Mr. Bush has endured relentless attacks from the left while facing abandonment from the right.

This is the price Mr. Bush is paying for trying to work with both Democrats and Republicans. During his 2004 victory speech, the president reached out to voters who supported his opponent, John Kerry, and said, "Today, I want to speak to every person who voted for my opponent. To make this nation stronger and better, I will need your support, and I will work to earn it. I will do all I can do to deserve your trust."

Those bipartisan efforts have been met with crushing resistance from both political parties.

The president's original Supreme Court choice of Harriet Miers alarmed Republicans, while his final nomination of Samuel Alito angered Democrats. His solutions to reform the immigration system alienated traditional conservatives, while his refusal to retreat in Iraq has enraged liberals who have unrealistic expectations about the challenges we face there.

It seems that no matter what Mr. Bush does, he is blamed for everything. He remains despised by the left while continuously disappointing the right.

Yet it should seem obvious that many of our country's current problems either existed long before Mr. Bush ever came to office, or are beyond his control. Perhaps if Americans stopped being so divisive, and congressional leaders came together to work with the president on some of these problems, he would actually have had a fighting chance of solving them.

Like the president said in his 2004 victory speech, "We have one country, one Constitution and one future that binds us. And when we come together and work together, there is no limit to the greatness of America." In Opinion Journal Today

To be sure, Mr. Bush is not completely alone. His low approval ratings put him in the good company of former Democratic President Harry S. Truman, whose own approval rating sank to 22% shortly before he left office. Despite Mr. Truman's low numbers, a 2005 Wall Street Journal poll found that he was ranked the seventh most popular president in history.

Just as Americans have gained perspective on how challenging Truman's presidency was in the wake of World War II, our country will recognize the hardship President Bush faced these past eight years -- and how extraordinary it was that he accomplished what he did in the wake of the September 11 attacks.

The treatment President Bush has received from this country is nothing less than a disgrace. The attacks launched against him have been cruel and slanderous, proving to the world what little character and resolve we have. The president is not to blame for all these problems. He never lost faith in America or her people, and has tried his hardest to continue leading our nation during a very difficult time.

Our failure to stand by the one person who continued to stand by us has not gone unnoticed by our enemies. It has shown to the world how disloyal we can be when our president needed loyalty -- a shameful display of arrogance and weakness that will haunt this nation long after Mr. Bush has left the White House.

It's an expression generally reserved for people who have sacrificed themselves to save us all.

Think Jesus.. and sarcasm.

“Stop throwing the Constitution in my face,” President Bush screamed back. “It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!”

Thank you for removing your tagline pic, it was making me sick.

I was about ready to put you on bozo. Man, that picture sucked.

Hello.. Nice to "see" you again. :)

I've just been surfing around looking for the next step..

Because, ostensibly, there's going to be a war in heaven over what happened last night. States that were red for 40 years went blue, and for a lightweight newbie who spoke mostly in platitudes.

Someone has to take in in the shorts here.. Ya know, this is a big deal. Blame must be laid and reputations protected and all that.

A list of potential candidates probably looks allot like this:

1) Conservatism.

2) Republicanism.

3) Palin.

4) McCain.

5) McCain's advisers and handlers.

6) The Press.

7) Dubya himself

Apparently, they're out early and defending the latter.

They're going to try and spin this guy into Marlon Brando.

I don't think it will work, but it's going to be fun to watch.

“Stop throwing the Constitution in my face,” President Bush screamed back. “It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!”

You're welcome. I always keep my promises (to X-15). Now, one word of advice. Turn off your TeeVee. My new HDTV, complete with every conceivable channel, hasn't been on for 24 hours. The Mrs. tells me it's Obingo 24x7 and she already despises him, her and THEM. I'll fire it up Saturday, in time for ESPN Game Day, and not a moment sooner.

This moron's name says it all. Only a joo could rant and shill for bush. Didn't bush tell us that our Constitution was only a goddamned piece of paper and didn't he do many things that were contrary to our Constitution?

You bet your ass he did. All the critism and disdain the sheeple have for comrade bush he has earned. He got us involved in a war with Iraq by telling lies and has practically bankrupted the country.

I could rip on this twits shitty lying piece of propaganda for hours, maybe even days. A rose by any other name is still a rose.

Fun times ahead, for sure. The Rs bite and the Ds have gone commie. The futures are down 120, so I'm expecting Europe to tank overnight. Add to this the Empty Suit isn't subject to criticism for fear of being called a racist. Are there any more Bushes in the pipeline?

Too late.. Ours only comes on for movies.

Been that way for years. I can't stand that thing anymore.

Be worse with Daywalker worship services plastered all over it.

Just wait till the buyers remorse sets in. One group will objectively criticize the guy and his policy decisions, while the other (The Personality cult) screams "Racist!" at the top of their lungs.

The Obama Presidency could easily set race relations back a decade or more without even trying.

“Stop throwing the Constitution in my face,” President Bush screamed back. “It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!”

This is the beginning of a battle to assign blame, protect street cred and ultimately steer the party.

I guess someone forgot to tell this guy that there's nothing "Conservative" about open borders, actively shipping jobs off to places unknown, record deficits, war crimes and wiping your butt with the Constitution..

But hey, maybe Dubya's just misunderstood and the Neo's should be put back in the drivers seat?

Bush is just a football in a game the primary purpose of which is to entertain and keep prying public eyes off the criminality zionists and their agents are up to. Making Bush the scapegoat just guarantees their criminality will go "unnoticed."

Just keep in mind whatever Bush says or does is scripted for him primarily by agents placed in the administration by the zionists from the many think tanks they infiltrated and now control, all this sanctioned by the supreme law-making body of the United States which they also control directly with their own Tribal representatives and others by funding their campaigns sufficiently to assure election.

The sewage treatment plant stunt is just theatrics. May be that's why big S said all the world's a stage...

Yes, as a matter of fact they did..

Sheehan pulled down 17%. A good showing for an independent.

Still, I have to wonder why one of the most liberal places in the world would object to this measure and back Pelosi by 3 to 1, knowing she is basically little more than an un-indicted co-conspirator.

Reality.. Objective thought. Raw anger.

ANY objective analysis of Obama's policy positions and proposals will be met with cries of "Racist!" by the faithful.

Then, there will be a fight between those who are offering honest criticism in good faith, and the Obama worshipers.. Those who believe him incapable of sin. Or even error.

Obama worshipers

True story. I ran into some of those Obama worshipers today. Was having lunch at McDonalds (the boycott is over they caved on the gay issue) anyway it was in the city so there were a lot of black folks there. Some black lady started yelling OBAMA!. I was talking to my helper telling him about the Obama worshipers. She yelled OBAMA! again. So I yelled Sucks right after she finished. I kept eating my grilled chicken sandwich and didn't look around. Nobody came up to me to beat my ass or nothing. Just finished eating and left.

Not so strange.. We're all here (And there, and hither and yon..) because of the Dubya personality cult back during the 2000 primary.

Some people are, apparently, just susceptible to this sort of behavior.

Toss in the black badge of modern victim hood and their endless whinging and conspiracy theories, then salt it with a little white guilt and it's not very hard to imagine how the first serious black presidential candidate becomes an overnight deity.
