Jim Neugent is a coach in Childress , Texas . My name is Jim Neugent. I wrote to ABC (on-line) concerning a program called 'THE PRACTICE.' In last night's episode, one of the lawyer's mothers decided she is gay and wanted her son to go to court and help her get a marriage license so she could marry her ' partner. ' I sent the following letter to ABC yesterday and really did not expect a reply, but I did get one.

My original message was:

ABC is obsessed with the subject of homosexuality. I will no longer watch any of your attempts to convince the world that homosexuality is OK. ' THE PRACTICE ' can be a fairly good show , but last night's program was so typical of your agenda. You picked the ' dufus ' of the office to be the one who was against the idea of his mother being gay, and made him look like a whiner because he had convictions. This type of mentality calls people like me a 'gay basher.'

Read the first chapter of Romans (that's in the Bible) and see what the apostle Paul had to say about it.... He, God and Jesus were all ' gay bashers ' . What if she'd fallen in love with her cocker spaniel? Is that an alternative life style? (By the way, the Bible speaks against that, too.)
--Jim Neugent

Here is ABC ' s reply from the ABC on-line webmaster:

How about getting your nose out of the Bible (which is ONLY a book of stories compiled by MANY different writers hundreds of years ago) and read the declaration of independence (what our nation is built on), where it says 'All Men are Created equal,' and try treating them that way for a change! Or better yet, try thinking for yourself and stop using an archaic book of stories as your lame crutch for your existence. You are in the minority in this country, and your boycott will not affect us at ABC or our freedom of statement.

Jim Neugent ' s second response ! to ABC:

Thanks for your reply. From your harsh reply, evidently I hit a nerve. I will share it with all with whom I come in contact. Hopefully, the Arkansas Democrat Newspaper will include it in one of their columns and I will be praying for you.
- -Jim Neugent

Note: Wouldn't Satan just love it if people stopped using the Bible for a crutch? Please resend this to everyone in your mailbox.

I wonder if the person from ABC considered how many people would read this e-mail!

Does anyone here have personal knowledge of someone in their fifties or sixties waking up one morning and suddenly 'deciding' that they're gay?

Good article.

Very very rarely. I do recall one woman I worked with, who after a couple of illegitimate little bastards, decided she was a lesbian. I have heard, but not observed first hand, of a very few similar instances. I had a next door neighbor who's wife ran away with her girlfriend - leaving him with the responsibility of raising the kids. He did a reasonably good job considering.

I suspect most of the women, or men, who experience such a change had leaned that way for a long time and just happened to decide to dramatize it at some point. They were most likely lesbian/queer living a straight life and suddenly decided to "come out" or experienced some trauma that warped them.

Being gay is unwholesome and unnatural and it is a last resort position for someone with a twisted psyche to express their sexuality. It has been my oberservation that most lesbians/queers have other perversions or neuroses that are strongly expressed along with their sexual perversions.

I know a few that pulled switcheroos but they were all female and were in their 30/40.

They ALWAYS knew, just decided to ruin others lives.

This gets, indirectly, at a deeper issue i.e., the Psychological manipulations taking place in television programming. Does anyone think this instance in this program appeared by accident? I seriously doubt it. It was planted in the story line as part of the long term agenda, which began in the 1960's or '50's, to normalize promiscuity and perversion. Not that the mores of the time were not in need of overhaul but that the push for greater freedom in such matters was used to piggyback an agenda of pushing more outre' behaviors.

One can even follow the progression over time, from a more relaxed attitude starting in the late '50's to the "Summer of Love" in the late 60's. First an agenda of promiscuity was pushed into the culture and now we are getting homosexuality being "normed".

Notice that homosexuality has been dropped as a mental problem in the DSM-IV (Diagnostical and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders - the billing bible of Psychiatry) and has been replaced with an ever increasing push of labeling ordinary behaviors as "disorders" - such as "Oppositional Defiance Disorder" - A disobedient child throwing a temper tantrum. Other favorites would include "Math Disorder" - if you are not good at math you are mentally defective; or Dyslexia i.e., you were never taught to read properly (over and over again so called dyslexic children put through a properly structured reading program do learn to read and their "dyslexia" is cured - WITHOUT DRUGS).

The point I'm making is that programming on TV is tailored to produce a certain viewpoint and mindset in the viewer - it's not called "programming" for nothing.

A comment from an older thread (note bold)

The TV is an agenda -- it has been the main propaganda machine for the last 50 years. Including the newly noticed portrayal of white men as dolts, the agenda includes the "browning" of America, the "dumbing down" of America, glorification of promiscuity and violence, the discrediting and mocking of Christianity, race-mixing (and, in particular, black male/white female), a pro- homosexual position, a society wide distraction with sports and meaningless game shows, discrediting and mocking the basic and traditional family unit, a pro-big government/government dependent class message, class warfare, fear mongering, and a pro-Israel message. It is overt. It is blatant.

The primary mission/goal of this agenda is to multiculture/diversify American society into a populace unable to form a cohesive political ideology/movement which could be or mount a threat to Zionist/Big Business elite control of the United States--fractionate the people.

It is working well.

Thanks.

That's pretty much my experience also.

I do not believe that homosexuality is a choice that we have to make. Going through puberty I never had to make a choice whether Johnny or Jeannie's butt was more attractive...a real no-brainer.

I find the homosexual agenda of the MSM is sickening. And this coming from a social libertarian who could care less who sleeps w/who in the privacy of their home. The constant drum beat of their social norming is probably why the newspaper/magazine business is dead. Now if we could just put their dopey TeeVee shows out of business, we'd be sending a loud and clear message.

How about getting your nose out of the Bible (which is ONLY a book of stories compiled by MANY different writers hundreds of years ago) and read the declaration of independence (what our nation is built on), where it says 'All Men are Created equal,' and try treating them that way for a change!

But that is not what they want. They dont want equality anymore than women do, they want to be "special".

Being created equal doesn't mean all are equal, it just means they started out that way. Fuck up in life and you are not equal to those that didnt fuck up. And homosexuals fuck up their own lives.

Or better yet, try thinking for yourself and stop using an archaic book of stories as your lame crutch for your existence. You are in the minority in this country, and your boycott will not affect us at ABC or our freedom of statement.

Now that is funny. "Thinking for yourself"? This nitwit thinks he is thinking for himself? He is letting others think for him. But he has a point, IMO. If they want to be left alone to do what they want, let them.

And we are a minority? Damn right. Thank God for that. I wouldn't have it any other way. So, ABC and all you MSM types, please keep doing what you are doing. That "archaic book of stories" tells what will happen to you.

I just love their use of pejorative terms. I am surprised he didn't work in an "ilk" somewhere.

It is working well.

Pretty much on point. I find the "race mixing" comment out of place and simply a reflection of the writer's viewpoint, but the rest holds largely true.

Television is not so much a means of mass entertainment but of mass manipulation.

The point is not simply to "fractionate" but to control the populace.

If one looks over the history of television programming one can see the downward spiral. Programs in the 50's to early 60's had some real gems and were first class "think" entertainment whether comedy or drama. By the late '60's we got Archie, Edith, and "Meathead". We also got laugh-in which, while often quite witty, also had a clear social agenda of pushing promiscuity. The Smother's Brothers got into trouble because they were "not with the program" and actually caused their audience to think.

One can see other casualties i.e., "Mystery!" on PBS which encouraged logical thinking and problem solving (and was highly entertaining on an intellectual level) which was first put on "hiatus" and then relegated to an obscure time slot. It was the last television program I watched with any regularity. Most of the crap on now has been so dumbed down, along with the school system in parallel, that it is not only devoid of much wit it is absolute shit. An endless procession of unreal "Reality" programs that have an obvious psychological agenda in their production, as well as "State Good", "People Bad".

The agenda is clear, if you read between the lines, dumb-down, and manipulate the society toward a 1984 agenda.

You are in the minority in this country,

The votes against gay marriage would counter that idea.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs. —Thomas Jefferson, 1802

I don't think there is any currently running show called The Practice on ABC.

Did some quick research. I don't know if that program is still on but according to a couple of sites, including Snopes - whom I don't particularly like, the letter exchange is legit.

Thank God I'm disconnected and clueless about most network entertainment.

TCM, Nova, Frontline, Nature, documentaries, the Retro Channel and other movie channels, CSPan.

Have stopped watching the Leno Letterman types, since half the time I have no clue who they're talking about.

BULL AND SNOPES BIAS. This is the equivalent of saying that a response from an AA.COM representative was not an "official spokesperson" for American Airlines. This would be DEAD WRONG. The responder was an EMPLOYEE OF ABC (as are AA.com support people employees of American Airlines) and thus a legitimate spokesperson, further backed up by his legitimate official ABC email address.

I stand by my original post and will not allow snopes or anyone else to rationalize it as being somehow irrelevant because of some BS about what department he worked in (irrelevant) and that they apologized (irrelevant) after being EXPOSED to the nation. (Deer in headlights??!!)

it did say that the story is essentially true, that the emails were legitimate, and that the "tech" was fired, so it doesn't negate the essence of the story.

The Practice ran from 1999 to 2004. i don't watch television shows, but i'd wager there are many more shows now that have story lines and characters that push homosexuality. i know there are numerous films that do.

I looked-up lyrics on one of my favorite movies: West Side Storie.

On The Movie the lyrics are:

I feel pretty, Oh, so pretty, I feel pretty, and witty and gay,

On the Stage Play the lyrics are:

I feel pretty, Oh, so pretty, I feel pretty and witty and bright!

FWIW (edit)

"gay" is the original; I hate this corruption of the English language.
