Having decided that I'm sufficiently fed-up with all the threads dedicated to Jews & anti-semitism (alleged or more) and some of the related incivility, a few hours ago I suspended the following accounts (in no particular order):

AngelSpawn, Ben Herbivore, Jazzfan, WhiteFlame (WF since reregistering as MrAnderson, also banned).

These accounts are banned for the following reasons:

AngelSpawn: Your account is the one I hesitate most to ban as a review of your recent posting history shows no specific comment that I see violating our policy. However, you did in at least one recent instance participate in transforming a thread having nothing to do with Jews/Israel into a thread about Jews/Israel. I'm satisfied that constitutes disruption, and I don't think it likely that that is the only time it's happened. If you don't think so, email me.

Ben Herbivore: You've been very uncivil on numerous occasions (which I find quite out of character for someone who professed to be a Christian -- if you're are then you and God certainly know something I don't) too eager and quick to accuse people of anti-semitism among other things. Thanks again for the funny cartoon, though.

Jazzfan: Well..... see what I said about BH above (minus the Christian part, I suppose) and all the other nasty things I've said about you in my last 30 posts or so. Not particularly flattering, if I do say so myself.

WhiteFlame: Your last post to me (under than screen name) makes very plain accusations against Jews in taking over everything. If I were as patient as I used to be, I'd ask you *why* it is Jews supposedly do these things to put you into the position of having no real answer that would pass site policy. But I'm not going to do that. I've no time. I've no patience. I'm not getting paid enough to bother and I have better things to do. Your alter ego "MrAnderson" is also banned, and the thread you started and posted on deleted.

To all: I regret the situation deteriorated here as long as it did. Pretty much since we opened up, more than a few of you have expressed some appreciation/amazement at my patience with people. Perhaps this time it has served as a liability for the site. It has always been my goal to have LP be a "level playing field" site where "the truth can stand on its own" and where I'd be content just letting the arguments stand or fall where they may. Honestly, if everyone were like me, it would work well. Particularly since we have a bozo filter that would have served many people to keep the threads free of a lot of the crap. *Some* of you are like me that way but not all. That's okay, though, since it's a "the customer is always right" type of thing.

Still, one reason I have to be patient about these things is because I know that I can kick anyone off this site anytime I so much as feel like it. I'm not a perfect judge and my timing may be worse than my judging, but recovering from obnoxious posters is something that we can always do at any time.

There may be more bannings than the above. I'll probably be less patient with people in the future. I'll probably get more criticisms for not respecting "free speech" or for compromising my principles or the original mission of LP.... maybe. I don't know. Maybe not. On the other hand, I will be less fed up, and I will have more time to do stuff that actually pays my own bills, one of which I could be doing instead of writing this post.

But I do appreciate the vast majority of you that participate on LP and have offered so much time, effort, concern, financial support -- and now I'll add "patience" to that list -- for the benefit of LP. LP is about growing, learning and becoming better than we were, even if just a little bit. My lesson in all this is not to be as patient when I see people like Jazzfan on-line. Hopefully that makes me a better guy than I was before, and if it does, it just goes to prove that LP does indeed work, and that all the effort IS paying off. ;^)

My best to all well-intended LPers! I hope you had a happy and safe New Year's in spite of what was transpiring here. Let's hope 2004 brings us better tidings on LP, and that we'll have more virtue and integrity in all regions of the world.

Thank you,

Neil McIver Manager, Liberty Post

Look at the bottom of the exterior wall. Those are not vertical load bearing columns, they are dampeners for the exterior wall to absorb lateral wind forces.

They weren't the main support for the vertical load, but they did provide some support. However even without them the core would have been able to hold the floors up but the trusses might not have been able to. But only a small fraction of the exterior columns in each tower was damaged so that had virtually no effect on any floor falling.

You really believe the Official Story®, don't you ! ?

I doubt we'll ever know.

The government conducted a whitewash investigation. The Truthers, many of them flakes and self-promoters, jumped into the fray. Some of them are real nutjobs.

Now, I don't think you ever manage to prove it unless you get lucky, like someone directly involved confessing to it, providing credible evidence.

You know, this will drag on the rest of our lives, like the JFK thing. Or Waco. If someone gets too close to some actual truth and proof, you might see the gooberment hatch another tragedy, just to distract people.

I don't think the Truthers ever met the burden of proof.

I really don't want to waste my time going down this road again. Frankly, I don't participate as much here as I used to because of the damned stupidity and accusations I have endured here during election season, all by people that are too quick to judge and too slow to listen, and in fact blinded by some defect in their own biased minds.

PG,

It has been a while, but Tena was a (from what I recall) a terribly muddy bus stop on the way to Muswhie(a lousy spelling) and the initial departure for a long canoue trip down the Rio Napo to the great named town of Coca, maybe about twenty miles from the Puervian Border.

This was one of the greatest trips I have ever had in my life.

You have a way with words. You assume I am up to no good by announcing that I don't care for Alex Jones and have reason to think he is not what he portrays himself to be. On that lone bit of info alone you hurl insults. Did Alex teach you to act that way?

I don't know why Neil thought Obama would be any different than the rest. I hope he realizes he was wrong about that now. But even if he doesn't, insulting someone for something they sincerely believe, even if they are wrong, is childish and counterproductive to a mutual understanding of the issues.

I was in a bus with a Portugause girl, who on the trip to Musiane, (sp) was energic and interested in men.

Well my cousin and my self had a world class wonderful time playing guitar and singing ballads while the Rio Napo flowed behind us with the locals.

A wonderful memory, really.

One of the locals was Juan, and he was a great drinker, good guitar player and had some fine weed which he was generous to share in this remote star splayed skies of the Southern Hemisphere

The skies that night were beyound description..

Well all of this has a good ending.

Prolly about two AYM Juan comes rolling into our "hotel" room and grabs a matteress, and hauls it out-, my cousin and I are are hardly awake, and off goes Juan and a matteress.

Well what do we care.

So the next day,as we have tickets (haha)on the boat run to Coca, here appears Juan and his new girl friend, dragging our mattress back to out room.

Turns out that Juan was the Captian of our longboat the next day, and he did am admirable job (really) of dealin with all the serous rapids of the Rio Napo.

Was a frekking wonderful trip.

Spent the night in Coco, and some how caught a military plane to Quito, and the pilot was king enough to fly around the massive mountins there.
