The whole thing was only plausible to generations raised on TV.

TV wasn't required to get people to believe aliens had invaded from Mars. A radio show worked quite well. Conning people use to be done face to face, now with broadcasting through electro-magnetic radio waves, cable and DSL phone lines it is done to the masses wherever they happen to be.

God is always good!

I agree, I should have rephrased it to read differently.

I've always thought that the elderly were even more susceptible to TV's influences. My Grandmother swore that soap operas were truly real life. I would laugh when she said that and tell her. "Grandma... not one living person can have all those problems in their daily life".

Yeah.. radio could be even more dramatic, and some believed everything put in print too.

there's also that magical jet fuel.

Anything else magical that day?

you bettcha the magical way the initial report of the pentagon "attack" being a truck bomb disappeared in a flash.

Intensive structural remodeling was also being done in that area with a new electrical conduit system and water mains.

"As everyone knows, on 11 September, less than an hour after the attack on the World Trade Center, an airplane collided with the Pentagon. The Associated Press first reported that a booby-trapped truck had caused the explosion. The Pentagon quickly denied this. The official US government version of events still holds. Here's a little game for you: Take a look at these photographs and try to find evidence to corroborate the official version. It's up to you to Hunt the Boeing!"

Thanks for posting that. I remembered seeing those particular pictures some time ago, but I don't remember anything about any "truck" stories.

I'll have to re-read what you posted; bookmarked.

my big boss had his office one ring in from the damage, on occasion while going through the course of my day I would connect into the pentagon live cam site on the secure terminal I worked at, funny thing for around three days prior all the cams were down and stayed down for about a week after.

neither here or there but I was up for sailor of the quarter a bit after 9/11; during the oral board I was asked what I thought about baalzabush's talk about a war on terrorism, I said it's just like the war on drugs; all a bunch of bulldung. the guy who aked me the question already knew what I thought of it prior to asking as we'd talk about related issues daily. I was a white male up against a black male and two gals of mexican descent so I knew no matter how I answered it wasn't my quarter for a grab and grin.

I wonder if it's because that way they have just that many more "expendables"?

I don't think that the powers that be care about our service men and women like they used to....

Guess what jet engines are made of. STEEL.

Uh...no...

And besides which...putting aside the fact of controlled conbustion, both turbo fan jet engines and autos have a cooling system...

Do you think the mass of a floor changes even if it did sag?

Uh no...but the load bearing capabilities of the structure holding up that mass certainly changed...the floor was ssuspended between two support structures...

Indeed, numerous scientists, engineers and demolition experts have said the official version of the destruction of the World Trade Centers is impossible.

Yea so...numerous scientists will tell you that a Sky Ghost waved his hand and we all appeared. BFD.

There are numerous scientists who believe that man has 0 affect on our environment.

That was a very unimprsive statement.

Desks, paper, carpeting, various office equipment, those are all that could burn, and that is what burned.

And it was contained mostly to one section of one floor...the 11th...and it did not burn out of control for very long if at all...

Hell it was onlyu 2 alarms and FDNY said that the fire wouldn't have even gotten that bad had their been a sprinler system.

There is 0 comparison between the two events...one was a fire...the other a catastrophy...

Pay particular attention here, war, try to wrap your mind around an idea like that.

It's a moronic parsing...the tanks are part of the plane...it's like saying a car doesn't crash but its front end does.

Professor Steven Jones

How many times does this guy have to be discredited before you get it that he's discredited?

Both of the government-sponsored engineering studies of the Twin Towers' "collapses" -- FEMA's and NIST's -- are highly misleading about the core structures.

Gee...here's a paper that debumks that very notion:

Excerpt:

NIST: “As stated above, the core columns were designed to support approximately 50% of the gravity loads” [4]. “The hat-truss tied the core to the perimeter walls of the towers, and thus allowed the building to withstand the effects of the aircraft impact and subsequent fires for a much longer time—enabling large numbers of building occupants to evacuate safely” [10]...

The fact is the Towers were constructed with a substantial load-supporting core structure as well as perimeter columns – and on this point we agree with NIST in dispelling false popular notions.
