Dues Paid in Full, the Braves Are World Champions

Dues Paid in Full, the Braves Are World Champions Tom Verducci 11/3/2021 This team is about the long haul. This title is a triumph of perseverance. Baseball is a cruel, fiendishly inequitable dues collector. The payment it requires before doling out rewards follows whim more than logic. There is no other way to explain why Braves pinch runner Terrance Gore has three World Series championship rings and one career RBI. Or why Jorge Soler, hitting .192 on a last-place Royals team July 29, finds himself three months later with a World Series MVP trophy and a second championship ring to complement his 2016 Cubs bauble. [Spoiler] The championship comes a year and a half after Larson used a racial slur (the dreaded N-word, in jest) while competing in an iRacing event during the pandemic shutdown in April 2020. Larson was suspended from NASCAR, lost his job driving Chip Ganassi Racing’s No. 42 Chevrolet and did not race in NASCAR again until this year after being reinstated in October 2020 (with Hendrick Motorsports, the late Dale Earnhardt's (#3) ride). Kyle Larson caps dominant season with Cup Series championship (The NASCAR Cup is kind of a big deal) Kyle Larson, the season’s most dominant driver in the NASCAR Cup Series from start to finish, completed his run to the top by winning the 20 ...

PETA wants MLB to rename the 'bullpen' to 'arm barn'

PETA is pitching Major League Baseball to retire the term "bullpen" and use "arm barn" instead. The animal rights group says "bullpen" mocks the misery of animals and devalues players. In baseball, a bullpen refers to both the group of relief pitchers and the physical area where the pitchers warm up. To make the point, PETA Twitter account has at least temporarily changed its name to Arm Barn. PETA says that cows and bulls are typically held in bullpens before they are "hung upside down and their throats are slit in the meat industry" and "tormented into kicking and bucking by being electro-shocked or prodded.""Words matter, and ...

Army Football's Winning Record In Jeopardy As General Milley Keeps Giving Opponents Their Playbook

WEST POINT, NY—Army's football program has been winning games this year, but that record may be in danger as General Milley keeps sending copies of their playbook to their opponents. "I have always believed it's important to give your opponent a heads up on whatever your secret plans are," said Milley to reporters while getting his weekly pedicure. "That's only fair—especially when your team represents the racist imperial forces of American white rage, and your opponents are oppressed people of color. I learned that in my ARMY CRT training last week." "I really appreciate the General giving us the Army playbook," said Ball State head ...

I held off on writing about the "F‑‑‑ Joe Biden" chants that began at college football games a couple of weeks ago. I had three reasons. First, I'm not a fan of obscenities because I think they cheapen speech. Second, these chants were initially small groups at Southern colleges, which really didn't seem like a "thing." Third, I wasn't going to get excited until I learned whether the chants had legs. Well, it turns out they do have legs, and they're becoming large chants at multiple games (including New York baseball games). And most importantly, Joe Biden knows about them and isn't happy. The "F‑‑‑ ...

O. J. Simpson shot a video calling on folks to “get the jab” and Twitter exploded O.J. Simpson has always found a way to open his mouth and insert his foot . . . like when he penned his quasi-confessional If I Did It: Confessions of the Killer. This time he really stepped in it. That’s because O. J. Simpson shot a video calling on folks to “get the jab” and Twitter exploded. Two things are true about O.J. Simpson. O.J. was an amazing athlete and a low life individual. The man could run the ball like no other back in his hayday (sic). Both in college for USC and in the NFL for the Buffalo Bills, O.J. Simpson just dominated the competition. Click for Full ...

The Olympics are a festival of human biodiversity. Different sports are best-suited to different body types: For example, swimmer Michael Phelps, winner of 23 gold medals, and eight-time gold-medalist sprinter Usain Bolt are roughly the same height, but Phelps has a long torso, like a human surfboard, while Bolt has long legs. In turn, because humans evolved to have somewhat different body types in different parts of the world, that means that different racial groups have different athletic strengths and weaknesses, as you can see on NBC this week. Granted, most whites aren’t physically much like Phelps and most blacks aren’t much like Bolt. But on average, whites are a little ...

Gavin Hubbard believes that he is a woman.* His delusion, while sad, would be inconsequential were it not for the fact that he took a space on New Zealand’s women’s Olympic weightlifting team, knocking out an actual woman, 18-year-old Roviel Detenamo. Those who believe that women and men are biologically different objected, claiming that his lifetime of testosterone gave him a huge physical advantage. With him as a precedent, transgender men will regularly squeeze actual women out from sports. However, at the Olympics, Hubbard missed the snatch three times, knocking himself out of medal contention. The question is whether he lost because he choked or because he was making a ...

An Olympic boxer just did something the boxing world hasn’t seen since Mike Tyson was champion Boxing is by far one of the best sports to watch during the Olympics. But one recent match had some excitement that was completely unexpected. That’s because an Olympic boxer just did something the boxing world hasn’t seen since Mike Tyson was champion. The Olympics are always a hit or a miss when you cut them on. It’s either something boring, like race walking. Or it’s something entertaining to watch like women’s beach volleyball. But boxing is one that is alway fun to watch, no matter the competitors. American boxing legends like Joe Frazier and ...

At the Olympics, the USA loses again and again, but Americans don’t care
Post Date: 2021-07-26 07:37:52 by Ada

For many decades, the quadrennial Olympic games were grand moments of patriotism. Even as the Soviet teams used mountains of government money to train their athletes, our plucky amateurs somehow kept winning. There was a reason the Miracle on Ice was a miracle. Of late, though, our athletes are no longer amateurs; the Soviets are gone; we worship at the Chinese shrine; the Olympics are on every two years and broadcast 24/7, making for complete over-saturation; and too many of our Olympic athletes hate the country they’re representing. For that reason, those Americans who love their country the most have cared the least when Americans have fallen flat in Tokyo. The first occasion for ...

NFL Looking into Ways to Identify Vaccinated Players During Games The NFL last month declared they would segregate vaccinated and unvaccinated players; however, now they are looking to labels players too. According to NBC Sports, the NFL has already required NFL players to identify whether they’ve been vaccinated or not by wearing a bracelet inside of team facilities. Conversations are still ongoing between the NFLPA and NFL on what methods they will use during games. So, it appears numbers or logos won’t be the only way to identify players on the field but bracelets or other markers will more than likely be used too. As of right now close 13 teams are close to 85% vaccinated, ...

RNC to Air Ad During All-Star Game Slamming Dems for Stealing Competition from Atlanta Wikimedia Commons July 12, 2021| By: Sally Kent The Republican National Committee is set to air a new ad during Major League Baseball’s slamming Democrats for “stealing” the All-Star game from Atlanta, GA after a new voting bill was passed. Democrats falsely claimed that the new law made it harder for minorities to vote and that it equated to “Jim Crow 2.0.” Despite the false claims, the MLB pulled the game from being held in Atlanta, where a majority of businesses are minority-owned and now it will be played in Denver, CO which is predominantly white. According to Fox News: ...
