A strong thunderstorm, possibly a ‘supercell’ thunderstorm moved through northern Allen County, Indiana between 8:30 pm and 8:55 pm on Tuesday (July 6, 2022). Several areas reported 70 mph winds and trees and powerlines down. Several thousand homes lost power, trees were uprooted, and fell on roads and houses with many branches downing power lines. FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Monday’s storms produced the the highest straight line wind speed ever recorded by the National Weather Service in Fort Wayne. A wind gust of 98 mph was recorded at Fort Wayne International Airport, breaking the previous record of 91 mph set at the airport on June 30, 2012. There are no reports of tornadoes. Poster Comment:I'm not so sure that's a great idea. I'd hate to trim their claws. I've seen some foxes down by the Maumee River. Mostly in the hood it's groundhogs, squirrels, coons and feral cats. My sick, old groundhog finally waddled off to die somewhere. I didn't want to get out the "assault shovel" to dispatch it. Rabies is more dangerous than Covi.
