Post Date: 2021-05-25 17:31:06 by NeoconsNailed
On the 4th of February, 1912, at the Niagara Falls on the border between America and Canada, three innocent people were swept to their deaths in the raging waters. The three were tourists, who had been enjoying the then perfectly-ordinary practise of walking across the base of the falls on a bridge of ice that sometimes formed there in winter. 00:00 - Intro 00:36 - About The Niagra Falls 03:22 - The Ice Bridge Disaster 05:42 - Rescue Efforts 08:17 - The Niagara Falls Today I tell the true stories behind some of history's greatest disasters... but without sensationalism or disturbing imagery. CNN's Don Lemon Fails to Get Guest to Take 'Bait,' Instead Gets Contradicted on Slavery

CNN's Don Lemon Fails to Get Guest to Take 'Bait,' Instead Gets Contradicted on Slavery by C. Douglas Golden May 8, 2021 at 9:51am The Three-Fifths Compromise is one of the most misunderstood pieces of America’s political history there is — and the fact Republicans are pushing back on the false narrative rankles some left-bubble partisan media. On Wednesday, CNN host Chris Cuomo said Republicans “are bringing up this Three-Fifths Compromise stuff for a reason” during the 10 p.m. hand-off from Don Lemon, according to The Daily Wire. “It’s something pernicious and wicked that they’re trying to do.” “Is it white supremacy? What is ...

The day the world was six minutes from WW3 Damaged USS Liberty. Credit: Wikimedia Commons. Review: Matt Skow’s TruHistory Films’ four-part docuseries on the USS Liberty by Brian R. Wright, 8.5×11-inch PDF version of review located here One is at a loss for superlatives in reviewing this stellar work, Sacrificing Liberty. First, it’s a state of the art, full audiovisual- impact documentary, finely honed by one director-editor-cinematographer- archival-artistic-retrievalist Matthew Skow under auspices of the TruNews Christian media network with the utmost care for the men of the USS Liberty—whether surviving, injured (174), or killed (34)—out of a crew of ...

Richard Strauss and the Survival of Western Culture
Post Date: 2021-05-03 13:02:59 by Ada
For a number of years I’ve greatly admired and enjoyed the music of the German composer Richard Strauss (1864-1949). In his early years prior to the First World War, he was considered forward-looking, even musically avant-garde. Indeed, the aged defender of the German classical tradition —and another favorite—Max Bruch (d. 1920), found Strauss’ compositions too advanced and straying from that tradition. Yet Strauss was formed in the richly productive culture of southern Germany, Bavaria and the old Austro-Hungarian Empire, and, even if he experimented with harmony and vocal lines in his operas Salome (1905) and Elektra (1909), he never really departed from that early ...

FDR's Great Gold Robbery
Post Date: 2021-04-06 21:14:26 by X-15
Today is the anniversary of one of President Franklin Roosevelt’s worst infamies – his confiscation of privately-owned gold. I wrote the following article in 1999 for Sheldon Richman at the Foundation for Economic Education. This article was a spinoff of Freedom in Chains: The Rise of the State and the Demise of the Citizen (St. Martin’s Press, 1999).Freeman, June 1999 Money: The Great Gold Robbery by James Bovard The New Deal established much of the moral framework of contemporary political life. Though some of the programs and policies of that era have been terminated, the moral heritage of the New Deal continues to permeate American government and political thinking. In ...

American Settlers Meet Spartans

Peter Cozzens, The Earth Is Weeping: The Epic Story of the Indian Wars for the American West, Alfred A. Knopf, 2016, 576 pp., $35.00. The war in Afghanistan is said to be our longest war, but the war against the Plains Indians was longer, lasting from the 1860s until 1890. Peter Cozzens, a retired Foreign Service Officer and independent historian, has written what he hopes is a balanced account of a conflict that has, for decades, been defined by Dee Brown’s, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. Published in 1970, countless colleges have taught this biased book, and it has never gone out of print. Mr. Cozzens writes that it is unique for “so crucial a period of our history [to] ...

The Secret Hellfire Club and the Hellfire Caves
Post Date: 2021-04-01 06:57:40 by noone222
Wharton was a powerful Jacobite politician, writer, a wealthy peer, and Grand Master of the Premier Grand Lodge of England who led a double life as a drunkard, a rioter, an infidel and a rakehell (meaning a man who was habituated to immoral conduct such as womanising, and wasting his fortune through acts of gambling and debauchery). Wharton’s club was considered a satirical “gentleman’s club” (although women are also purported to attend), intended to shock and ridicule religious beliefs through the act of mock religious ceremonies with the supposed president of this club being the devil. The club came to an end in 1721, due to political maneuvering by Wharton’s ...

What was life in ancient Celtic Ireland like?
Post Date: 2021-03-26 21:46:56 by Ada
There is now broad consensus that there never was an “ancient Celtic Ireland.” The belief that Celts from continental Europe colonized Great Britain and Ireland in the last few centuries BC has not held up in the face of recent advances in archaeology, linguistics, and especially ancient DNA research. It is clear from the DNA record that Ireland was continuously inhabited by essentially the same people from the Bronze Age Bell Beaker folk (who arrived around 2400 BC) through the Iron Age and into historic times. The lack of any genetic evidence of an influx of Celts is supported by the absence of Celtic La Tene/Hallstatt artefacts in the archaeological record. Nevertheless, ...

Shock article: the Irish were never intrinsically Celtic
Post Date: 2021-02-17 10:39:44 by NeoconsNailed
Q. How did the Celts go from dominating nearly the entire European continent to having limited presence in the British Isles? What could the Celts have done to remain relevant? A. You are under the false assumption that these Islands and people are the last redoubt of the Celts. The truth is the Celtic identity of Ireland and parts of the UK is largely a 19th. century invention of Welsh linguists What many don’t appreciate is that the idea that Ireland was once settled by Celts has been called into question by many scholars. Archaeological digs offer scant evidence that there was ever any sudden change in culture in Ireland’s ancient past that we would expect to see if ...

Let's review why he was tagged with his middle name: SA exile Henri le Riche writes: "Other than the ANC siding with the communists during the Cold War, why did UK prime minister Margaret Thatcher and US president Ronald Reagan call the ANC a terrorist organisation? I will let the current US president, Barrack Obama, answer that question. After the April 16 2013 bombing at the Boston Marathon he said: "Any Time Bombs Are Used to Target CIVILIANS It Is an Act of Terror". The ANC had an easy choice: Fight soldiers, or take the easy cowardly option terrorists worldwide take, and that is target civilians.. THE ANC'S VICTIMS WERE MOSTLY CIVILIANS: 1981 – 2 car ...

The Last Time the D.C. Establishment Labeled its Political Opposition as “Insurrectionists” (And How It Taught Them About “National Unity”)
Post Date: 2021-02-08 09:23:53 by Ada
The Washington establishment, led by a senile 78-year-old man who can barely speak in complete sentences and seems permanently fighting mad, is hell- bent on labeling virtually all Americans who voted for President Trump –Republicans, Independents, and Democrats — as “insurrectionists.” They have invoked the Insurrection Act of 1807 to justify placing thousands of heavily-armed National Guard (and other) troops in Washington, D.C., who appear to be stationed there indefinitely. Comrade Pelosi, who turns 81 next month and also seems demented, always angry as hell, and extremely frustrated that she is not a dictator, has called for the placement of manned machine gun ...

Why Genghis Khan Refused To Invade India

SS Bank Heist - Berlin 1945
Post Date: 2021-02-01 16:27:27 by BTP Holdings
The extraordinary story of how an SS unit robbed the Reichsbank in Berlin during the last days of the furious battle in 1945 and escaped to Bavaria with over 130 million dollars of loot. All monetary figures are extrapolated from 'Nazi Gold' by Ian Sayer and Douglas Botting, the best book on this subject. A Good Reason to Honor Robert E. Lee
Post Date: 2021-01-19 18:01:03 by X-15
Yesterday’s melee in Washington provides good reason to honor Robert E. Lee because he demonstrated how he maintained dignity in defeat while convincing many resentful Southerners to reconcile with their former enemies. At the end of the War Between the States in 1865 he had as much reason as any Southerner to reject reconciliation, but he didn’t do that. To the contrary he promoted reconciliation for the sake of the entire country. Shortly after Lee died in 1870 his family gave biographer J. William Jones personal access to Lee’s letters in the family’s possession. Of this time Jones wrote, “When I had the privilege . . . of examining his private letter-book, I ...
