John Brewer's wedding. Poster Comment:When me and Paul and Skillethead touched down in Madison, there was a Lincoln Town Car waiting. We were kids with buck in the 80s. Some guy wanted to beat me up because he thought I was Sonny Crockett. He was close, Crockett carried a Bren Ten, I Carried a 1911. Best flight ever. I could carry, don't get all spun up. I ceased to be a bad guy in 1995. Oooo, I'm a hardcore civilian now.

The Lost Cause of Conservatism

The history of political parties in America is as old as the United States itself and while the seeds of England’s Whig and Tory Parties goes back to 1679, those in America even predated the rise of most such factions in Europe by several decades. However, for half a century many of America’s founding fathers, particularly those in the South, maintained a deep distrust of such organizations, as expressed in 1822 by President James Monroe who considered “ their existence as a curse of the country.” The initial political party in America was the Federalist, founded in 1789 by a group of political leaders from the Northeast led by Alexander Hamilton, John Adams and John ...

Poster Comment:Liddy was an east coast guy, born in Brooklyn in 1930 and died in Mount Vernon, Virginia in 2020. Liddy and E. Howard Hunt were part of the Plumbers who burglarized the DNC HQ in the Watergate Hotel. This subsequently led to Nixon's resignation as President. I can recall the Nixon campaign chant in 1968, "DUMP THE HUMP". Hubert Humphrey was LBJs Vice President. https://en.wikipedia.org/wi ki/G._Gordon_Liddy

Revisiting Fisher Ames, Founding Father and arch-foe of democracy. I told a friend of mine I was going to write a profile on Fisher Ames. “Who?” he asked. “Fisher Ames. One of our Founding Fathers and a preeminent Federalist.” “And you’re writing a profile on him?” “Yep.” “Why?” “Well… he’s largely forgotten. And his brand of conservatism was actually conservative. You know, interestingly enough, he died on July—” “No, no. I mean why?” “I don’t follow.” “Well, it’s an election year, in case you haven’t noticed. And I don’t think a dead Federalist is going ...

Thousands of soldiers were killed in the last battles of World War II. US troops who fought in the Hürtgen Forest nicknamed it the "Death Factory." This documentary features original film from US archives that bring the battle back to life. It's estimated that as many as 30 thousand US and German soldiers were killed in fighting in the northern Eifel region of Germany in the autumn and winter of 1944 and 1945. Traces of the battle - old bunkers, munitions, trenches and tank tracks - are still visible even today. The scarred landscape bears witness to a little-known chapter of World War Two. The "Hürtgen Forest" was the last obstacle standing between US ...

But it was in many ways also a first glimpse into what would come during the First World War: trenches, artillery, combat aircraft, motorboat attacks. This war in Ottoman Libya was fought between the Italian Army and Ottoman-led local Senussi forces. Poster Comment:The Italians were nearly as bad as the French.

Black slaves toiling in the fields of large plantations, gentlemen in frock coats and ladies in hoop skirts relaxing on the verandas of large mansions . . . all set in places named Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland and Mississippi. Most would imagine this to be a picture of the antebellum American South, but they would be mistaken, as it would actually be a scene from mid-Nineteenth Century Africa. More specifically, an area on the Ivory Coast that contained not only Liberia, but the colonies of several Southern states. To set the stage for our African story, we must first return to America’s earliest days. Contrary to what is claimed by the “1619 Project,” the first ...

Tora! Tora! Tora! is the Japanese signal to attack - and the movie meticulously recreates the attack on Pearl Harbor and the events leading up to it. Opening scenes contrast the American and Japanese positions. Japanese imperialists decide to stage the attack. Top U.S. brass ignore it's possibility. Intercepted Japanese messages warn of it - but never reach F.D.R.'s desk. Radar warnings are disregarded. Even the entrapment of a Japanese submarine in Pearl Harbor before the attack goes unreported. Ultimately the Day of Infamy arrives - in the most spectacular, gut-wrenching cavalcade of action-packed footage ever. You'll see moments of unsurpassed spectacle and heroism: U.S. ...

Angleton, Mossad, and the Kennedy Assassinations

Edward Curtin wrote four years ago on Counter-Currents: perhaps no one epitomized the twisted mind games played by intelligence agencies more than James Jesus Angleton, the notorious CIA Counterintelligence Chief for so many years, in whose safe were found gruesome photos of Robert Kennedy’s autopsy. Why, one may ask, were those photos there, since Angleton allegedly had no connection to the RFK killing and since Sirhan was said to be the assassin? Was Angleton’s work as CIA liaison with Israel in any way connected? If you ask me, I strongly suspect it was. Angleton had been the Mossad’s indispensable ally in John Kennedy’s assassination. So he had personal reasons ...

Memorial Day

Memorial Day is their day, isn't it? It is supposed to be the day a grateful nation pauses to quietly thank the more than one million men and women who have died in military service to their country since the Revolutionary War. Or is it the day the beach resorts kick into high gear for the summer season, the day the strand is covered by fish-belly white people basting themselves in coconut oil, the day the off-season rates end and the weekend you can't get in a seaside seafood restaurant with anything less than a one hour wait. Or is is one of the biggest shopping center sales days of the year, a day when hunting for a parking space is the prime sport for the holiday stay-at-homers? ...

We will see in shock what this supposed to them, and how the postal service censors had to get down to work.
