Here is a snippet of Putin’s speech last night announcing his decision to send the Russian military into Ukraine: Citizens of Russia, friends, I consider it necessary today to speak again about the tragic events in Donbass and the key aspects of ensuring the security of Russia. I will begin with what I said in my address on February 21, 2022. I spoke about our biggest concerns and worries, and about the fundamental threats which irresponsible Western politicians created for Russia consistently, rudely and unceremoniously from year to year. I am referring to the eastward expansion of NATO, which is moving its military infrastructure ever closer to the Russian border. It is a fact ...

Contrary to what the mainstream media has tried to convince you, it's not at all a mystery how the fire started in Odessa, Ukraine and it's not at all a mystery who started it. We owe it to the victims to expose what really happened. Poster Comment:The MSM has conveniently buried this. If people knew about this, would they still throw their support behind the Nazis of Ukraine?

Think back to 2014 when the US overthrew the Ukrainian government and installed a neo-Nazi regime. The neocons were smirking, laughing at how easy it was to buffalo the Russians. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland publicly bragged about how the US had spent $5 billion dollars preparing the overthrow of Ukraine. Much cheering of how Ukraine would now be used to destabilize Russia and seize the Russian Black Sea naval base. After a long frustrating, humiliating 8 years of trying to get the West’s attention that this was not a scheme Russia could accept, and after one last effort which got nowhere, Russia has acted. In his speech this morning Putin explained the long years ...

Edible oil prices soared this week, prompting fears that record-high food prices could be imminent. On Wednesday, soybean oil futures in Chicago hit their highest levels since 2008, and palm oil, the commodity used in thousands of food products, jumped to new highs. Soybean prices increased 1.4% to 71 cents per pound, the highest level since 2008. US canola futures are also on the verge of an all-time high, and palm oil in Malaysia hit a new record high of $1,434 per ton. "Drought has crimped soybean crops across South America this season. Rival oilseeds like palm and canola have also suffered shortfalls from adverse weather and labor shortages. And escalating political tensions ...

Putin’s Donbas Move Threatens U.S. Global Dominance

Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to recognize two break-off republics in eastern Ukraine as independent states, stoking cries of horror and condemnation from the Western keepers of the ‘rules-based international order.’ The Russian legislature passed a bill last week calling on Putin to recognize the ‘People’s Republics’ of Donetsk and Luhansk, which each declared secession from Ukraine following a U.S.-sponsored coup there in 2014. While the Kremlin initially dismissed the idea, saying the move would run afoul of ceasefire agreements struck in Minsk, the president reversed course on Monday following appeals from leaders of the break-away states. He ...

The world's richest ten percent are responsible for an estimated 47 percent share of global CO2 emissions. This is the result of a recent study published in the journal Nature Sustainability, which focused on how alleviating poverty worldwide would impact carbon emissions. As Statista's Florian Zandt shows in the chart below, the difference between the poorest and wealthiest people not only shows in their emission share. On average, a person filed under the lower 50 percent income group only produces about one ton of CO2 per year compared to about 48 tons of carbon dioxide per capita emitted by the wealthiest one percent.

A large German health insurance provider revealed on Wednesday that Covid-19 vaccine side-effects are vastly underreported, according to Welt. After analyzing data from over 10 million individuals, BKK ProVita board member Andreas Schöfbeck, over a 7.5 month period beginning in early 2021, 216,695 policyholders out of 10.9 million were treated for vaccine side-effects. This compares to 244,576 reports out of 61.4 million reported by the Paul Ehrlich Institute - a German federal agency. Germany has a population of around 83 million people. Schöfbeck called the data an "alarm signal," adding "The numbers determined are significant and urgently need to be checked ...

OTTAWA—Prime Minister Justin Trudeau addressed the House of Commons Tuesday to announce his intent to retain the Ring of Power. The ring, which he obtained last month on the field of battle at the base of Mt. Logan in the Yukon Province, was freed from its master when Trudeau slew a halfling ring bearer and took it from him. "This ring... this precious ring... it is a gift," said Trudeau before the House of Commons. "We can wield its power against the forces of white supremacy and transphobia!" According to sources, Trudeau had a chance to destroy the ring when former Canadian intellectual Jordan Peterson implored him to cast it into the fires from which it was ...

A Mexican Standoff in Eastern Ukraine

The stakes are the future of Moscow’s relationship with the West. After years, months, weeks, and days of reiterating its opposition to NATO expansion, especially NATO’s determination to extend membership to Ukraine and Georgia, Moscow acted. Moscow recognized the independence of the two Russian breakaway republics in the Donbas and committed its forces to their defense. For the moment, it’s a Mexican standoff: a confrontation from which none of the parties—Washington, Kyiv, and Moscow—can extricate itself without suffering a serious loss of face or worse. The stakes here are not merely the self-determination of the breakaway states, Luhansk and Donetsk, and ...

"There is only one political sin: independence; and only one political virtue: obedience. To put it differently, there is only one offense against authority: self control; and only one obeisance to it: submission to control by authority. Why is self control, autonomy, such a threat to authority? Because the person who controls himself, who is his own master, has no need for an authority to be his master. This, then, renders authority to be unemployed. What is he to do if he cannot control others? To be sure, he could mind his own business. But this is a fatuous answer, for those who are satisfied to mind their own businbess do not aspire to become authorities. In short, authority needs ...

The Birth of the Baby Twins: Russia’s Strategic Swing Drives NATOstan Nuts

“You don’t believe in the principle of indivisible security? Fine. Now we dictate the security rhythm.” History will register that the birth of the baby twins – Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics – only a few hours before 2/22/22, was simultaneous to the birth of the real, 21st century multipolar world. As my columns have stressed for a few years now, Vladimir Putin has been carefully nurturing his inner Sun Tzu. And now it’s all in the open: “Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.” The thunderbolt was months in the process of being meticulously polished. Breaking Down The Cost Of An EV Battery Cell

As electric vehicle (EV) battery prices keep dropping, the global supply of EVs and demand for their batteries are ramping up. As Visual Capitalist's Govind Bhutada details below, since 2010, the average price of a lithium-ion (Li-ion) EV battery pack has fallen from $1,200 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) to just $132/kWh in 2021. Inside each EV battery pack are multiple interconnected modules made up of tens to hundreds of rechargeable Li-ion cells. Collectively, these cells make up roughly 77% of the total cost of an average battery pack, or about $101/kWh. So, what drives the cost of these individual battery cells? The Cost of a Battery Cell According to data from BloombergNEF, the cost ...

Cancelling Richard Gere

Authored by Dinesh D'Souza via The Epoch Times, Remember Richard Gere? I certainly do. He was a huge star in the 1990s, playing memorable roles in such movies as “Pretty Woman,” “American Gigolo” and, last I recall, “Unfaithful.” Then, Gere largely disappeared. I noticed this, but never wondered why. Now I know. Gere got cancelled by Hollywood because of his criticism of Chinese regime tyranny. The story of Gere’s cancellation is told in a new book by Erich Schwartzel, titled “Red Carpet: Hollywood, China and the Global Battle for Cultural Supremacy.” Schwartzel embeds Gere’s story inside a larger account of Hollywood’s larger ...
