Obamacare Fosters Oligopoly
Post Date: 2010-11-04 18:45:01 by F.A. Hayek Fan

Well, now. It seems Obamacare is increasing concentration in the medical industry. From yesterday’s Wall Street Journal: The turn toward consolidation among insurance companies is not new, and neither is it among doctors, hospitals and other providers. Yet the health bill has accelerated these trends, as all sides race to anticipate and manage political risk and regulatory uncertainty. This dynamic is leading to much larger hospital systems and physician groups, and fewer insurers dominated by a handful of national conglomerates. ObamaCare was sold using the language of choice and competition, but it is actually reducing both. As new insurance mandates are handed down, the costs of ...

The public health nurse is pressuring us to get our 15 month old vaccinated. I'm against it. My wife is on the fence. Of course the nurse is all for it. Does anyone know of any very good, credible, concise, clear, succinct, convincing documents or websites I could download and print to show my wife and ones to show the nurse? Thank you in advance.

Haiti's Cholera Outbreak: A Disease of Poverty - by Stephen Lendman On October 22, Reuters confirmed Haiti's cholera outbreak, saying efforts were being made to prevent an epidemic that so far "killed nearly 200 people and sickened more than 2,000," official reports understating the threat. On the same day, New York Times writer Donald McNeil, Jr. headlined, "Cholera Outbreak Kills 150 in Haiti," saying: "A cholera outbreak in a rural area of northwestern Haiti....overwhelmed local hospitals with thousands of sick," according to the World Health Organization. Rural Artibonite, Haiti's main rice-growing area, 62 miles north of Port-au-Prince was ...

Women Don't Care About Bad Sex
Post Date: 2010-11-01 12:03:42 by freepatriot32

Many women who report sexual-performance problems aren't particularly worried about them. In various studies attempting to rate sexual satisfaction, between one-third and one-half of females report sexual dysfunction. However, only about 10 percent are concerned by it. In general, women are more likely to report sexual problems than men, and their problems tend to be with desire, rather than with plumbing issues. One theory as to why so many women will brush off bad sex is because they still value the intimacy of sex, even if the experience itself isn't as pleasurable as they feel it should be. In other words, a post-coital snuggle can make up for all sorts of shortcomings.

Judging by the list of corporate sponsors on its website, it’s hard not to conclude that Susan G. Komen for the Cure® (Komen) has aggressively sought out partners to further its cause of breast cancer awareness and prevention. There’s nothing wrong with that. But it’s always dicey when you rent out the warm glow of your organization’s hard-earned identity in exchange for additional exposure and financial support. You, your colleagues and your supporters build your nonprofit’s brand every day with every action you take. And Komen — which runs the famed Race for the Cure® — is the largest grassroots breast cancer organization there is, so careful ...

Gov. Haley Barbour (R-MS) told NBC's David Gregory that there would be significant changes to health care reform even if it wasn't completely repealed. "I think if [Republicans] don't fully repeal and replace it, they will make such big changes in it over the next three ...

Putting Ice on Injuries Could Slow Healing [Yet Another Widely Held Conventional Health Tidbit Deep-Sixed]

Putting Ice on Injuries Could Slow Healing by Richard Alleyne Daily Telegraph Slapping a packet of frozen peas on a black eye or a sprained ankle may prevent it getting better, new research suggests. For years, people have been told to freeze torn, bruised or sprained muscles to reduce the swelling. But now for the first time, researchers have found that it could slow down the healing as it prevents the release of a key repair hormone. This discovery turns the conventional wisdom that swelling must be controlled in order to encourage healing and prevent pain. It could also lead to new therapies for acute muscle injuries that lead to inflammation. The study, published in the Federation ...

According to Riki Ott “The people that did evacuate (the gulf) are glad they did” And for good reason.” She went on to state that deaths from the disaster are now a reality: Riki said during an interview ” I am dealing with about 3 -4 autopsies right now… I know of people who’s esophagus’ are ...

Pasture Perfect By Jo Robinson www.motherearthnews.com/n...April_May/Pasture_Perfect Grass-fed meat and dairy products have less fat and more vitamin E, betacarotene and cancer-fighting fatty acids than factory-farm products. All across the country, farmers and ranchers are returning to this ancient and healthier way of raising animals. Instead of sending them to feedlots to be fattened on grain, farmers are keeping animals home on the range. Cattle graze, lie down, chew their cud, graze a soothing cycle, repeated day after day and chickens hunt for seeds and bugs as their ancestors have for eons. Although raising livestock on pasture is viewed as a radical departure from modern ...

1. Rhododendron Why we grow it: Give them moisture and shade, and rhododendron shrubs offer showy red, white, pink, or purple flower clusters in spring and thick, glossy leaves that thrive into the winter. Deadly parts: The entire plant. Toxic toll: Who knew both West Virginia and Washington's state flower was a silent killer? Swallow any part of this plant, and you're going to look as bad as you feel. While drooling from the mouth and teary-eyed, you'll begin vomiting violently, just as your pulse slows down and low blood pressure sets in. Death can occur shortly after falling into a coma or during a violent seizure. 2. Lily of the Valley Why we grow it: Low to the ...

Now FDA Criminalizes Chelation No OTC Chelation, FDA Warns ... All over-the-counter sales of "chelation" treatments are illegal, the FDA says. The federal agency sent warning letters to eight companies that sell chelation treatments online. The companies were told to immediately stop selling the products. "These are in fact unapproved drugs," Michael Levy, director of the FDA's division of new drugs and labeling compliance, said at a news conference. "These companies falsely claimed that these drugs treat a variety of ailments, including autism and heart disease." Chelation is a technique for treating people who have been poisoned with heavy metals such as ...

It's always entertaining when the mainstream media "discovers" something they think is new even though the natural health community has been talking about for years. The New York Times, for example, recently ran a story entitled When Drugs Cause Problems They Are Supposed to Prevent (www.nytimes.com/2010/10/17/h...). We've been covering the same topic for years, reporting on how chemotherapy causes cancer, osteoporosis drugs cause bone fractures and antidepressant drugs cause suicidal behavior. The latest "new" discovery by the mainstream media is that McDonald's Happy Meal hamburgers and fries won't decompose, even if you leave them out for six months. ...

Watermelon is a classic summertime favorite packed with vitamins, minerals, fiber, and many other nutrients. And a new study out of Florida State University (FSU) has pinpointed a few specific amino acids present in watermelon that help improve arterial function and lower blood pressure. According to FSU researchers, watermelon is rich in the amino acid L-citrulline, a precursor of L-arginine, that reverses the effects of prehypertension by maintaining arterial function and improving proper blood flow. Published in the journal American Journal of Hypertension, the study is the first of its kind to show this definitive benefit in humans. "We are the first to document improved aortic ...

New Numbers Reveal More Gardasil Deaths

Exposed! Newly uncovered documents reveal that the world's most tragic and dangerous public health experiment has claimed more young victims. Gardasil, Merck's horrifically bad HPV vaccine being pushed on little girls around the world, has been linked to 16 more deaths -- including four suicides -- and thousands of other terrifying side effects. Even more outrageous, the feds have been busy trying to cover it up -- because instead of immediately warning the public and ending the program, they tried to hide all the damning evidence. The FDA only came clean when forced to by the law after Judicial Watch filed a demand for the data under the Freedom of Information Act. And in ...
