February 14, 2006, 9:42 a.m. The Moral Birds and the Bees Sex and marriage, properly understood By Roger Scruton EDITOR'S NOTE: This piece appeared in the September 15, 2003, issue of National Review. (You can dig into NR's archives anytime here). In the England of the Forties, when my parents were courting, terms like "moral," "decent," and "clean living" applied primarily to sexual behavior. Immorality meant sleeping around (and how innocent the word "sleeping" now sounds!); indecency meant unsolicited advances; dirtiness meant whatever put the sexual object before the loving subject. Sexual morality issued from two firm and seemingly immovable ...

Majority of Baptists Support Bush

Associated Press Writer 09/28/06 "AP" -- -- The head of public policy for the Southern Baptist Convention says an overwhelming majority of Baptists still support President Bush and his handling of the Iraq war. In an interview with The Associated Press on Thursday, Richard Land said that exit polls showed about 84 percent of Southern Baptists voted for Bush in 2004. The Iraq war hasn't significantly eroded that support, he said, despite recent polls that show Republicans losing ground with moderate evangelicals. "I'm not ready to throw in the towel on Iraq yet," said Land, president of the Washington, D.C.-based Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, the Southern ...

Orrin Hatch's song for Reverend Moon - Moon Holds Funeral for Christian Cross and Hatch Writes the Song [Obviously a Full Moon]

On the early Sunday morning of May 18, 2003, the high priests of Rev. Sun Myung Moon, owner of the Washington Times and Religious Right enigma, gathered over a grave near Jerusalem (left) to hold a funeral for the Christian cross. They had been touring the Middle East in the name of peace. They proposed Moon's teachings as the glue for Jews and Muslims, bewildering locals, and they held briefings on Mideast policy for the State Department, or so they claimed. They networked with politicians. And steam gathered for a big, big finale. They buried the cross because it was Satan's icon, Moon said, cleaving Jew from gentile, Christian from Muslim. Moon demanded a new symbol that everyone could ...

Judge received death threats after ruling on intelligent design

LAWRENCE, Kan. - A judge who struck down a Dover, Penn., school board's decision to teach intelligent design in public schools said he was stunned by the reaction, which included death threats and a week of protection from federal marshals. Pennsylvania U.S. District Judge John E. Jones III told an audience in Lawrence Tuesday that the case illustrated why judges must issue rulings free of political whims or hopes of receiving a favor. In a 139-page decision last year, Jones ruled that the Dover school board intended to promote religion when it instituted a policy requiring students to hear a statement about intelligent design before ninth-grade biology lessons on evolution. He ruled ...

AT PRAYER: Melissa Matos, of the Council on American Islamic Relations, is one of a growing number of Hispanic Muslims. The population has grown 30 percent since 1999. CANDACE BARBOT/MIAMI HERALD/AP ORLANDO, FLA. – With her hijab and dark complexion, Catherine Garcia doesn't look like an Orlando native or a Disney tourist. When people ask where she's from, often they are surprised that it's not the Middle East but Colombia. That's because Ms. Garcia, a bookstore clerk who immigrated to the US seven years ago, is Hispanic and Muslim. On this balmy afternoon at the start of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month, she is at her mosque dressed in long sleeves and a long skirt in keeping with the ...

Freemasonry is a religión http://www.cuttingedge.org/NEWS/n1144.cfm YES VIRGINIA, FREEMASONRY IS A RELIGION by Mac Dominick As the sun fractured the eastern horizon of the plains of Babel, the sky ignited into a myriad of color. The Great Hunter stood in awe watching the shimmering rays of light as they danced across the colossal structure. The instructions had been explicit, the plans had been executed perfectly to the most minute detail, and now the magnificent tower that would serve as catalyst to the culture and technology of the distant past was nearing completion. This was not simply a work of stone and mortar. It was far more significant that just its physical appearance. ...

The Talmud Unmasked This is what one Talmudic Khazar-Jew has to say about things; "Military men are just dumb stupid animals to be used as pawns in foreign policy." - Henry Kissinger, quoted in "Kiss the Boys Goodbye: How the United States Betrayed Its Own POW's in Vietnam." http://watch.pair.com/HRChrist.html Goyim Another way of saying or spelling goyim, is "Goi". Rev. I. B. Pranaitis, in his online work, The Talmud Unmasked, notes that this term has been removed from recent editions: In fact, all Talmuds intended for the Goi have been cleaned up so that no one knows exactly what is in the originals. After you read for a while, you will understand why. ...

By Holly Hartman Sep 26, 2006, 07:09 Editor's Note: From September 24 to October 24 this year, Muslims worldwide will observe Ramadan, a period of fasting, prayer and giving to others. Ramadan is a time of spiritual cultivation and identification with those who suffer. During this Ramadan, we pay special tribute to Muslims everywhere and especially to those Muslims who are suffering directly under the heel of foreign aggression and occupation of their lands. - Les Blough, EditorRamadan and Eid al-FitrThe month of fasting Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. A Brief History of Paganism in America

There is a religion in America today that has been slowly growing since the late 1960’s and has been gaining in popularity and acceptance throughout the years. Neo-Paganism, which includes such diverse branches as Wicca, Druidism, Asatru (a worship of Norse deities) , and many other reconstructionist and revivalist groups often based on the deeply researched practices of the ancients. Far from being the Hollywood vision of witches and witchdoctors, the “worldview of witchcraft is, above all, one that values life” (Starhawk 1979, p 32) , and is tied closer to the natural world than many world religions, save for other nature-oriented sects such as Buddhism and Shinto. The ...

The Jesuits When you read the following, remember that the first job of the Jesuits was to destroy the Reformation that became the Protestant churches. It is estimated that they killed at least 10 million people in Europe during the fight to suppress the Reformation. They were also responsible for the beginning of the Inquisition. There is one link below so that you can understand the Inquisition. Bible scholars will tell you that the Roman church is antiChrist. See the book Two Babylons; http://www.biblebelievers.org.au/2babindx.htm (or The Papal Worship Proved to be the Worship of Nimrod and His Wife). The entire book is free on line and should be read. AS A NUSLIM: What Is Your Objective in Ramadan?

What Is Your Objective in Ramadan? By Ali Al-Halawani** For one’s life to be meaningful, it has to have a goal that is worked toward or striven for. If one leads all of one’s life without a goal to be achieved or an end to be reached, all of one’s life goes with the wind. This is true of all people, Muslims and non-Muslims alike. But for a Muslim, this issue has much more value, as the end-goal is to attain Allah’s pleasure and to be granted admission to Paradise in the Hereafter. Based on this, true Muslims should have an objective for both their whole life and their individual deeds during every minute that they stay on earth. No one can deny the fact that ...

ANALYZING DEAD SEA SCROLLS EVOLVES FROM CARBON TO DNA

From the very beginning, science and technology have played a critical role in the authentication, restoration and analysis of the Dead Sea Scrolls. "There have been a number of remarkable technological achievements that have helped us better understand the scrolls," said Scott Noegel, a University of Washington expert on Near Eastern languages and literature. "I think the coolest has been the use of DNA analysis," added R. Bryce Seidl, president and chief executive officer of the Pacific Science Center. Because some of the scrolls were written on animal hide, Seidl explained, experts since the mid-1990s have been able to establish a specific "genetic ...

Religious right falters on eve of elections

For over two decades, the religious right -- the "hard base" of the Republican Party -- has grown to be a driving force for GOP political success. The "values voters" base will be especially important to Republicans this November. Lower mid-term turnout and general public dissatisfaction with the country's political direction make a solid showing among the conservative faithful critical to GOP success. Double that in the South. That's why Republican strategists are terrified by the news they're reading in dispatches such as this one from the AP earlier this week, which reveals a growing sense of frustration and betrayal from the church pews to the religious right ...

But Then It Was Too Late "What no one seemed to notice," said a colleague of mine, a philologist, "was the ever widening gap, after 1933, between the government and the people. Just think how very wide this gap was to begin with, here in Germany. And it became always wider. You know, it doesn’t make people close to their government to be told that this is a people’s government, a true democracy, or to be enrolled in civilian defense, or even to vote. All this has little, really nothing, to do with knowing one is governing. "What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, little by little, to being governed by surprise; to receiving decisions ...

Kebab Philosophy by Gilad Atzmon – September 26, 2006 Five years of intense war against terror and Britain is far from becoming Islamophobic to the degree that Blair and his Zionist friends would have expected it to. Five years of Anglo-American war against Islam, it is actually British Jews who insist that there has been an alarming increase in Anti-Jewish feelings. More than one year after 7/7 the British public keeps refusing to endorse Blair’s distinction between ‘reactionary Islam’ and a ‘good’ kind. Though the British Government, the Home Office and the security forces do everything they can to split the British society by spreading fear, ...

September 26, 2006 The Pope's Evil Legend Mohammed's Sword By URI AVNERY Since the days when Roman Emperors threw Christians to the lions, the relations between the emperors and the heads of the church have undergone many changes. Constantine the Great, who became Emperor in the year 306--exactly 1700 years ago--encouraged the practice of Christianity in the empire, which included Palestine. Centuries later, the church split into an Eastern (Orthodox) and a Western (Catholic) part. In the West, the Bishop of Rome, who acquired the title of Pope, demanded that the Emperor accept his superiority. The struggle between the Emperors and the Popes played a central role in European history ...

Jesus Camp: Mini Review

I’m not great at this sort of thing, but here goes. Becky Fisher is the focal point of this new film by Magnolia Pictures. She’s a Pentecostal children’s pastor who runs a summer camp in North Dakota that uses mind control and the Gospel to take her evangelical teachings to a very disturbing playground, that of a child’s mind. She boasts that she can easily turn a very young child into a Christian Warrior. I thought we have laws against such corruption. In reality, she’s a brainwashing–a master manipulator that preys on the innocence of these children and her practices turn them into a Bible-thumping, judge-hating, Bush-loving army that she hopes will turn this ...

Far from being the secretive cult of legend, Freemasonry is openly built into the US capital's very fabric Published: 24 September 2006 Is this the most masonic city on Earth? I can't helping thinking so, just after one of the more memorable TV interviews I have given, in terms of the setting at least. The topic was the role of a renegade Freemasons' lodge in the downfall and death of Roberto Calvi, the Italian banker found hanged under a bridge in London in 1982. But where to do the interview? Washington had no links with the Calvi affair (unless of course you believe the whole thing was the work of the CIA). The production director, however, came up with an inspired location: the dark, ...

I have recently come into contact with a religious sect that preaches that, basically, people become "guardian Angels" after their body dies. And then they have to go around and perform routine maintenance on families', and others' pathetic lives, helping them with troubles. I'm not sure that I want to hang around dead relatives and descendants all day. Since I'm not too sharp on the Bible, can anybody fill me in with verses as to why there are no "Guardian Angels"? So that I may use said verses in my argument? I know there are some Bible geniuses here. Please help a religious illiterate.

Judaism & Homosexuality: A Marriage Made In Hell

Judaism & Homosexuality: A Marriage Made In Hell By Rev. Ted Pike9-22-6 Today, Judaism, more than any religion, has rejected moral judgments against homosexuality, and supports the gay agenda. Reform Judaism, representing 39 percent of American religious Jews, is now in total endorsement of sodomy. It says:We hold that homosexuality is no longer {an abomination}; it is not a mental illness or social deviancy; it is not a perversion of the natural order. Homosexuality is not a choice or a preference; it is not something that one decides to do or abstain from doing. It is, like, heterosexuality, the way one is. As such it makes no sense on religious or moral grounds to differentiate ...

Call centre gives Catholics chance to pray by proxy

Busy Roman Catholics who cannot find the time to pray are being offered a unique alternative - a prayer call centre where someone will do it for them. Manned by a team of more than 200 volunteers on a rota basis the "call centre of the faithful" as it has been dubbed is staffed from 9am until 11pm and has an answer machine on at night. Callers leave their intentions and dedications with staff who note them down in a pad and they are then passed onto a prayer group who do the job for them. The call centre operates out of the Sant'Anastasia al Palatino (St Anastasia of the Palatine) Church close to the famous Circus Maximus in the heart of Rome. Dozens of people call every day. ...

SATANISTS are thought to be behind the killing of 30 sheep found at a remote beauty spot. The animals were ritually slaughtered over a week — and some had their eyeballs removed. Necks were also broken, some of the sheep were sexually mutilated and tongues were torn out. Most were laid out ritualistically in a circle when they were found at spots across Dartmoor, Devon — where six slaughtered sheep were found in an identical state a year ago. The thirty animals were owned by six farmers. Rigor mortis had set in and experts believe the sheep had been killed elsewhere and moved. * A local official said: “The sheep die in agony — and this ritual is affecting ...

Spain ends subsidy to [Catholic] church

MADRID The Spanish government said Friday that it would no longer offer a direct subsidy to the Catholic Church, adding to a deepening divide between religious conservatives and the governing Socialist Party. Details of the move were outlined Friday by María Teresa Fernández de la Vega, the deputy prime minister. The church would still receive government funding, because taxpayers would still be allowed to direct a percentage of their taxes each year to the church. But the government would no longer add to the amount allotted by taxpayers to guarantee a minimum level of state financing for the church. In exchange for the elimination of the direct subsidy, the government ...

Satan-worshipping groups in the Christian-majority Indian state of Mizoram are waging an anti-Christian campaign by burning Bibles, vandalizing churches and defiling cemeteries. One such group entered a church after midnight on July 24 and burned Bibles, urinated on the pulpit and tore up pictures of the Virgin Mary and Jesus. "It appears they sacrificed an animal on the pulpit and splattered its blood on the altar and chair of the worship leader," said the Rev. B. Sangthanga, the head pastor of the church in the Kolasib district of the northeastern Indian state. "Last year, some young men of our village confessed to worshipping Satan. Our investigation has found ...
